Interestingly, all models are lower than last week, except for Panameras (+7). However, West London has 7 more new cars overall, but the next 3 on the list (Bournemouth, Aberdeen & Wolverhampton) all have less.
Probably a few unlucky owners having to buy something in a hurry following the Luton fire?

These manufacturers take the piss. My sat nav subscription just ran out - porsche want 130 a year. Never use it anyway but wtf? A subscription for something I've already bought? I will continue to use the phone sat nav.

But seen that bmw are charging 15 a month for heated seats and 10 for heated steering wheel. For something you have already bought.

Arrogance.

Isn’t that just for the update, you can still use the ‘old’ maps?

The navigation subscription is for updated maps and realtime traffic over the data connection.

Nav still works fine without the subscription the maps will just slowly get out of date like they used before these things gained online connectivity.

Nav, yes thought that. Even so, bit stingy. It's an update.

Struggling to see the problem , if you look at the information when you spec vehicle it tells you that after 24 months there will be a subscription , basically you are getting 2 years for free

It’s not hard to see how they almost got away with it.

Exactly. Surprised anyone would argue they don't see a problem with it.

You are paying a subscription to get something new. It’s been like this for sat nav maps forever. Yes Google gives it away for free because they monetise your location but Porsche or any other manufacturer does not so they charge for it. You can run with old maps for free obviously, it’s not like they are removing a feature when you stop paying.

Yes/No. It's not *just* base map updates: It's all the real-time traffic, satellite maps, etc which aren't really "something new", but something you've had from day #1.

Due to tech churn, cars will typically outlive the back-end systems used to provide all this. For example, Audi have dropped satellite maps on pre-2016 A4's as the Google API has changed...

I suspect the numbers taking up these subscription renewals are fairly small.

live updates, I get it.

Heated seats, turning product into a service is just a horrid way to make revenue.

Constantly replacing iPhones (or others) on contracts (very expensive finance for the unwary) is a hamster wheel itself.

The Porsche connected services package and traffic etc is £250/yr, that’s about 4-5 times what BMW charge for the same products (Black Friday deal).
Imo it’s just not worth it, just use CarPlay does everything bar remotely lock your car etc, for nothing.
