46 pages into this thread and I think we all get the jist that the car market has changed since the “never before seen” period through and post covid

Markets go in cycles.

45 pages - we get it.

Either buy a car with cash. Go try and get a good deal as no one will get one sitting on their iPhones tying Pish every day. Or finance. Or don’t. We don’t need another 46 pages of constant drivel.

If you already have a nice Porsche - enjoy the bleeding thing. Some of the talk in here about “sell now” this is a car forum not an “investment market forum” and there is the irony….

Enjoy your cars if you have them. The dealer spreads are the biggest killer when selling and buying

If you don’t want one don’t comment.

Boring
If it's so boring, why are you engaging with this thread?

About a quarter of the Taycans are over £150k. Who on earth is going to buy one of those?

Great charts!

Interesting that the 'poverty spec' 911 that was listed recently sold almost immediately.

Some of the over 100 911 new stock price is utter madness. Over 170k for a targa 4 GTS! Absolute bonkers anyone who buys that. IMHO, of course.
The cheapest car is a base 911 at £114,721.

"Utter madness" indeed.

A base Boxster is £51,800.

The cheapest new Boxster on the site is £71,485 (and it's in pink vomit).

Utter madness.

I think the debate is drifting O/T. The thread is about Porsches in stock at dealers, not a particular individual's 'investment' habits.

had an intresting chat with an old contact today who now works for one the opcs. he told me that the 30 odd new cars advertised are less than half they have in stock, but they dont want to advertise all of them as it will overwhelm customers with choice. he added that theres lot more on the way and they have no idea what to do with them. can only be a matter of time before more big discounts as they cant keep piling up more stock.
If he's accurate, interesting times are just around the corner.

£92k might be optimistic for a private sale, there is a similar age 992 2S on Motorway struggling to get to bids beyond £80k (7k miles, 2021, Black car with black leather).
Isn't Motorway for trade buyers rather than a private sales?

When did they go away from the build to order model (in Europe)? I thought the essence of their model is to offer barebones cars that can be personalised? Which you can reasonably expect to pay a decent premium for.
Many have speculated that post-Covid, Porsche was building over-specced models when lead times were long, then giving punters the option of taking one of those immediately or waiting a long time for the spec they wanted. If this is true, as demand has shrunk and supply increased, they've been caught out.

Macans and Boxster seem to have the most robust positions with few pre-reg or new cars with sensible spec available...

...but I hear one can now get December build slots for Macans, so even that is changing

Arrogance.
Haven't those plans been dropped?
