I have a 3.8 981 cayman GT4, a 4.0 718 GTS Boxster and a 2.5 718 Cayman GTS. The 2.5 is my favourite all rounder. It’s a great car and gets by far the most use. People are very quick to dismiss the four pot engine, usually those that haven’t driven one.
Interesting that you prefer the 2.5 GTS.

I've often wondered if these would actually be better than the NA 4.0 that replaced it, and all the journalists rave about.

I drove a 718 4.0 GTS and found the experience didn't quite match the hype.
The F4Ts are grunty things even in base 2.0 form, and the 2.5 is a legitimately fast car. Driving on a wave of torque is quite intoxicating and, contrary to Internet folklore, a lot of people really like them. Not everyone wants some screamer they have to rev the nuts off.

Completely anecdotal but I'm sitting in my OPC and there are so many cars outside I couldn't find a parking spot.

Currently ogling a nice 991.1 GT3. Sadly I'm not here to buy that

Adding, there must be over a dozen Taycans here. I thought the waiting list was enormous?

Currently 22 brand new Taycans on the Porsche website available for immediate delivery.

Maybe the Taycan bubble has burst.

Electric no longer the cheaper option to run. Tesla dropping price of thier models not helping!

Mostly SUVs,
A few desirable cars, just 1 Boxster and no 911s.
Yawn.

All Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan bar one 718, Clearly a curated selection of what is actually available, not a single new Macan in the UK that isn’t spoken for ? Actual number much higher I am sure.

I know it used to be that OPC’s weren’t allowed to advertise new cars they had in stock as part of their franchise agreements. I am guessing the fact they are now on the AUC website is a concession to OPC’s to help shift these cars.

Probably in for repairs, like the heater. My OPC is often full with no space to park, but its down to cars being recovered by PorscheAssist and not their stock.

When OPCs take new cars in stock and park them in the showroom and class them as show/demo cars they keep them for a certain length of time before they're allowed to sell. This is because of favourable buying terms and/or claiming VAT back.

Means you save more Corporation Tax than one at £90k.

Showroom cars are not classed as new/demo cars, they can’t sell them/register until a replacement has arrived. Under the franchise agreement there are “fines” as in lose some of their quarterly commission if they don’t have a new 911, Cayman, Boxster etc on display. They might get a few days grace with prior permission and I am sure during Covid rules were relaxed but you can understand it…Porsche doesn’t want potential customers turning up and not being able to see a 911. All about protecting “brand value” If an OPC wasn’t contractually forced to have circa £750k of cars sitting in the showroom they would cut corners.

There's that.
I think there's a huge amount of used stock there though. Cars are parked in the usual sales spots and everywhere else

I heard that Porsche Assist are being asked not to return cars to OPC's who are running out of space ...
