I’ve used a “well known Porsche specialist” near the M25 for both water and air cooled cars...
I’d honestly rather go to an OPC.
I’ve subsequently used RPM, Tuthill and Prill Porsche. All have been excellent
Note the moderator edit. It seems a person isn't allowed to name a garage they don't like, even if no detail is given. In any case, all Porsche specialists in the area are now suspected.I’d honestly rather go to an OPC.

Maybe Porsche owners as a group need to start leaving reviews on one chosen review website with their PH username to validate and then we can make an informed decision without infringing PH's naming and shaming prohibition?Trust pilot seems decent - I note that the first two indy's I searched for aren't on there yet, so would give us a pretty blank slate to start from?

Any reviews/ experiences from Cavendish Porscha in Nottingham? Planning to use them for service
I used them to do a post purchase inspection on my 996, they seem pretty good, knowledgeable and honest about my car and the services they offer etcI’ve booked back in with them in March to fix a few oil leaks and sort my alignment.

In no particular order these indies are all good.
9e
Porsche Torque
JZM
911 Virgin
RPM
Non of the above cheap but 75% the price of Porsche Reading/Swindon who I also use from time to time. I've not used Ninemeister for service but had one of their hot rods and its the best air cooled 911 I've ever driven. I'd be very confident 9m servicing and problems solving top notch having driven one of their specials.
With my turbo its nice to be able to have been to over 30 track events and 40,000 miles since 9e tuned Minty - drive there , be one of the quickest turbos and then drive back home with no mechanical issues.
What are 911v good for exactly? 9e
Porsche Torque
JZM
911 Virgin
RPM

Actually, I know what they are good at.

Bought and sold 6 cars via 911v. They do servicing too. Experience has been Rolls Royce levels. I'd happily buy a car blind from them down the telephone or leave my cars with zero paperwork and ask them to sell for me in event we cant agree a price for an outright sale.
For transparency I did have one nightmare experience with a partner of theirs (a truly awful paint shop) they put me in touch with but even that was a win in the end and 911v were only trying to help me after an off on track. These things happen no-one perfect. Painting is a bit hit and miss I'm sure the paint shop in question can do okay work they just completely failed with my re paint (twice).

No need 911v have been 10/10 with me and other Porsche owners I know well.
Same with Sid / Porsche Torque he's a top banana and knows his onions. Obviously may be some tension since 911v now service in house too and used Sid a lot previously. I'd happily use both and competition is good it ups everyones game. The end user customers benefit from this competition.
There's more than enough work out there for everyone. I know 911v always busy on servicing so happily use Sid I really like him. I'd use 9e more too but they are miles away from me and its the journey from hell around the M25. Use JZM too all excellent in my experience.

OK, so OP here for an update, the car has been in at the latest Indy since my first post, fixing various boost leaks (with video proof) that the last place said didn't exist 6 months ago.
They've now found what looks to be the cause of the airbag faults that ocurred whilst the car was at the last place and the last place said they'd run out of ideas on and it just needed a (£2k) replacement airbag ECU...
...and the last place charged me £thousands, remember.

I have one of those plug-in sonic pest deterrent things in my garage. We've had mice living in the dry stone walls of the garden and also the shed for 20 odd years but I have never seen evidence of a single one in the garage.
Unfortunately that wiring is chewed, there are bits of yellow insulation on the grey material at the bottom of the pic. If it was melted the insulation would have smoothed edges or be discoloured but wouldn't pull copper strands out of the wire as shown.
RE the cut wire can only think it was cut to stop the chewed wires causing a fire.

Thanks - the grey material at the bottom of the pic is part of the interior carpet, I believe that part of the wiring is behind/under the dash near the transmission tunnel.RE the cut wire can only think it was cut to stop the chewed wires causing a fire.
Do you know if the interior is properly sealed when the doors and windows are shut - is it possible for a mouse to get inside the car?
