964

Don't worry too much about LHD bob, I got used to it very quickly with a previous car, just remember one of those kids grabber things for multi storey car park tickets.

BERGS2 - YHM.

Mike - Those 964's keep calling me!
My wallet says buy a 968. But can I part with my Jag - which I love.
Descisions, Descisions!

Buy a 964 Bob.

Sell the monster Jag to a ph'er, under the agreement that you have first refusal to buy it back.

How's that for a plan?

Apologies if my grammar was poor. Did I draw the wrong conclusion?
I draw pictures for a living, not conclusions.
Consequently grammar is perhaps not my forte.

I thought he was having a pop at my Jag - Which is surely bad form on a car enthusiasts site.

You shoulden't palm off, your old cars on him.

Besides which he musten't be allowed to leave the garage before he's finished his last one,

(in any case) he should go shopping on E-bay, like everyone else, not go 'hoovering' up all the PH'ers cars,
it makes it to easy for him to get his 'spanner fix'

If only you knew. In my youth I smoked a few XJS`s and was the perfect young man about town. The old man ran one from around 1977 or 1978 and I hooked the stepfather up with a couple until his final days.

As a drive peerless.

As a car, (with respect), not without their faults ! And 25 to the gallon! Behave, 18 on a good day and well under the 15 mark when given the boot in traffic. If Porsche could bottle the majestic drive and elegance of a bygone era that driving them gave you it would be lovely. Not too keen on the rot though !

Sell the TVR, keep the XJ for the weekend and buy a nice cheap 964. But what do I know I`m just a simple country boy.

Now constructive criticism I can take.

As you say, they're not for everybody but I do take issue with the fuel consumption. Sure enough, on my daily commute to work which consists of half the journey queuing in traffic and the the other half blatting accross the moors, I achieve about 14-15miles to the gallon.
However doing purely motorway driving (in a leisurely fashion I'll grant you) from Manchester to Devon I got 25MPG.
I know, I was there, it really happened!

As for the rot - mine's a facelift model so the body is galvanised just like a Porsche - so no rot around here!

Good suggestion about the car lineup. I have just sold the TVR, and whilst I'd love to keep the Jag and buy a 964 I simply dont have the money. Plus my girlfriend decided to buy a car the other day, so I may not have the space.

I'm currently sellig a house in Devon and hoping to buy one in Manchester soon, so for the time being It would be wisest to settle on one car to use everyday.

Its strange but the older cars look so good in the whites and reds etc, only the gt3rs cuts it for me in these colours in the modern cars.
