Just my opinion but is there any point to this boxster forum?ITS LIKE WATCHING PAINT DRY.A couple of posts a day if that and when i had my boxster this forum made me feel unworthy as a porsche owner compared to the main site.Would'nt it be better just to have one which is for all?Not only would you get a speedy reply to a thread, but you would also have access to all the best thinkers and writters who really never post here. And lastly it would make the main site stronger and more well rounded, this total911 style forum just does'nt really work IMHO.

Seriously though? Why is'nt there A 924/944 SITE THEN?Is the boxster a lesser car than those?

I think this was set up when some boxster site or other went offline for a while, so ted could take a few refugees.

I'm happy to merge everything back into one. One busy forum is probably better than the breakdown that most other sites insist on.

Maybe it might be worth putting it to a vote on the main site, maybe like carrera 2 most people dont care, but for me it would make the porsche forum in general more interesting

Give it a day to see what people's thoughts are and then I'll consider merging them.

If there are a lot of 911 owners and (seperate) Boxster owners then a seperate forum makes sense. And I think there are.

For my part I'm not really interested in Boxster posts (nothing to do with the car, superiority, blah, blah blah) so if there ended up lots of Boxster related posts on the Porsche forum this would be disappointing.

Fulham,i do see your point, but if you are'nt aware there is,nt a lot of boxster posts and thats my point, the few that there are would only make our forum better,i hope you will change your mind as your contributions seem always to be well placed

Agree with Rob merge the B&C back into the Porsche group. They are all Porsche cars despite what some may like to think. You dont have to click onto a Box topic, if you don't want to. If Boxster topics start to out do the others then split it back up.

I have no probs with merger IF its clear from title what car it relates to. That being the case one can decide to have a butchers or not

most Boxster owners use boxa.net as it is specialist and too quiet here

might as well merge IMHO

Given the similarities of many parts, there's also a lot of crossover in boxster/911 topics. A question about a boxster could often be solved by the answer to the same question about a 911.

Good point but seriously if you happened to click on a Boxster thread, not advertised as the fact is it the be all and end all, maybe it is if you're on dial up?

There's a lot of technical talk in the Porsche forum which you probably wouldn't get in the Boxster (now B & C) forum as it is a starter Porsche which is more likely to be bought by the technically uneducated/experienced.

HHmmmm, I think you will find the kind of Boxster owners on PH know a thing or two about their chosen brand and technical issues. I have seen many a muppet question on the Porsche forum. Lets not be elitest. if you want to go that route then you will end up with Air, Water, Non-911, Boxster, Cayanne, Turbo forums etc. Plus most questions on the 996 have a direct relevance for 986 owners. If you want a distinction then have:

1) Porsche Forum
2) Buying Advice/Technical Questions Forum

Interesting, a starter Porsche? I've got a 996 and my next Porsche will be a Boxster
