How about a 911 Forum and a Forum for all other Porsches ?
This keeps the 911 chaps happy and also allows the rest to have a more active forum in the 'Other models' section which would liven it up. This would also benefit those who dont want to trawl through all the 911 posts, which to be fair at present, make up the majority of Porsche contributions on here.

My 2d worth.

Fulham,i do see your point, but if you are'nt aware there is,nt a lot of boxster posts and thats my point, the few that there are would only make our forum better,i hope you will change your mind as your contributions seem always to be well placed

I have no probs with merger IF its clear from title what car it relates to. That being the case one can decide to have a butchers or not

Good point but seriously if you happened to click on a Boxster thread, not advertised as the fact is it the be all and end all, maybe it is if you're on dial up?

There's a lot of technical talk in the Porsche forum which you probably wouldn't get in the Boxster (now B & C) forum as it is a starter Porsche which is more likely to be bought by the technically uneducated/experienced.

Interesting, a starter Porsche? I've got a 996 and my next Porsche will be a Boxster

OK I confess. My post was meant with tongue firmly in cheek. In my defence I was just about to leave my office when typing this up, so had no time to put any smilies in. So here's one.

I'm still in two minds about this. Upsetting the delicate balance of a forum can screw things up all round.

I see your point about Boxster/Caymen being on the edge, but I wonder if merging them into the main forum is the right answer.

Maybe there's another split that doesn't divide the community according to cars owned but helps provide some structure to the forum and stops it quickly running over several pages each day?

Porsche Chat / Technical Issues?

Ted just look at my last reply?
does that just sum up what i've being saying all along? That guys about to spend at least 50k and will never get all the info he needs here!
I,m sure you do know best and i mean that, but could'nt you at least give it a months trial?
would it be so hard to switch back at the end of it if it did'nt work?
At the end of the vote you could just put it to a single vote yes/no i will be more than happy to stand by the result.
Anyway ted thanks alot for aleast giving me the time of day on this subjet.

We could always just add Technical Advice to the existing two forums
