I`d hate to see the forum broken up even further. To be honest I`ve never been on the Boxster forum, for no reason other than lack of time. As it is I only go on the general Porsche PH site & PH motorsport / Britcar page. There is the PCGB forum, the rennlist, that other Porsche site where everyone was moaning a few weeks ago, etc, etc. A bit like a newspaper you tend not to get them all. I suspect I`m like a lot of people who pop on every now & again, if a thread catches your eye you run with it otherwise you leave it, sometimes for a few days or weeks.
If the 2 Porsche sites could be combined it would be great.
As a Cayenne owner am I allowed to post on the general site ?

A Gayenne owner was that?
Not a real word unlike Gayman. Anyway enough ! This is an important thread, don`t upset the fat controllers.
I`ve just been on the Boxster forum and they`ve only posted about 6 items this year ! I don`t think that would spoil things "flipping over the page" wise.
For what it`s worth if the last item on the page is a time rather than a "yesterday" I tend to pop over and have a quick look at the previous page anyway.

If the boxster owners post as little as that then I don't think that we'd really notice them joining the overall porker forum. Anyway, given the similarity in engine design with the 996's onwards, it could be mutually beneficial. Please don't do an air-cooled/water-cooled split of the porker forum - half the fun is the gentle banter between us 'classic' drivers and the those thrusting young things in their new fangled machines!
BTW Henry-F - while perusing the October edition of my french Porsche mag 'Flat6', I came across a picture of a very fetching young brunette in jeans and a white T shirt emblazoned with "Lose your 911 virginity to us". The article was about the recent festival at Brands Hatch and their caption was "No comment" but then they never miss an opportunity to include a picture of a pretty girl. If this is part of your 'hard' sell then I don't doubt its effectiveness - I would have been happy to listen to her sales patter...

I am all for a merger. As a Boxster owner I post more on the Porsche forum anyway.
Lets not be elitest. If you want to go that route then you will end up with Air, Water, Non-911, Boxster, Cayanne, Turbo forums etc. Plus most questions on the 996/997 have a direct relevance for 986/987 owners (cue rotten fruit). If you want a distinction then have:
1) Porsche Forum
2) Buying Advice/Technical Questions Forum

I wouldn`t even distinguish between the 2 as there is so much cross over.

Totally agree. One forum does ensure that we have a fair amount of entertaining variety.
And slightly OT, having just read the 911&PW article about the Cayman S I have to see it looks and sounds great - I never thought I'd say that ...
I think that will be the car to bring the 911 and Boxster groups together. Or maybe it'll just create another ...
There can only be one!
Henry's comment makes perfect sense, the first page of the Boxste forum goes back to the 6th, so it's hardly buzzing.
We get plenty of topic variety here, (including the gayest colour 996, it would appear that nervous is winning, I like the colour myself), to serious techy stuff.
Splitting us up would make certain areas somewhat desolate :tumbleweedtypesmiley:.
Excellent idea to have number of posts per page, is quite annoying to have so few.

Get everyone on the same forum, we all drive Porsche for goodness sake
I'm just as interested in 993, 996, 964, 3.2 as I am in 924, 944, 968 etc. I tend to look back over every post since I was last online. If it were all split into different sections I'd probably get bored going in and out (ooer) of each section and miss things
