I actually enjoyed the article. Since he mentioned little on how the car actually drives I guess that means it drives very well as no negative points were mentioned. Stiff, sticky and fast.

Looks great too.

In that spec, with 650bhp, 4wd, GT3 seats and the roll-cage it is £210k including VAT. I got the pricelist from Ruf when I sat in the car (albeit the pre-production version).

They have changed both the wheels and the rear bumper outlets from the pre-production car as shown at Essen and the first customer cars.

Why is this in the Porsche forum?

A delectable machine. I'd want it in that spec. but 210k? That's mega money.

I like the new rear bumper a lot more than the original one...nice

Also i think that those wheels are just used to test different tyre sizes...i remember they were using them on the first RT 12 customer car too.

all the best

check out the 400kph on the speedo !

Does any other road car have a speedo which goes so far ?

Top end Lambos usually stop at 340 kmh.

For the record, 400 kph is 250 mph or so, and 340 kph is
210 mph or so.

After having test driven the RT12 myself last month I can tell you all ... it handles !!, relatively softly sprung but combined with stiff anti-roll bar setup it creates a formidable 'real world' speed potential. Power delivery was remarkably linear to the red line, contrary to what Ian suggested in the article, even compared to my old ruf K16's, which shows how good ruf K24's are compared with stock or even hybrid K24's.

The highlight was when I was taken out later on that day by one of the test drivers who managed to turn sleepy bavarian, narrow, bumpy country lanes into what felt like the final stage of the World Rally Championships !! we were airborne and sideways through blind, double apex corners...MOST of the time. It's in my opinion the most appealing car Alois has built to date, though a touch too heavy perhaps for some.

The R50 should be just around the corner though..hmmm I like...

it's interesting how life is sometimes. There I am before lunch reading about a supercar that I'll probably never even see let alone ever be able to justify buying even if one day I had the money.

Then after lunch I come back to the office and notice an older 911 in the car park that belongs to one of the guys who works here.

A quick chat and he takes me out in it - I've never experienced anything like it.

It's a 1988 Carrera modified with a turbo and lightened (no AC, radio, light seats, no door handles etc) Apparently the turbo puts out about 900hp with the boost turned up and running on race fuel. Today it was only running at about 600hp and it was something else.

Accelerating away from the lights we hit 150 in less time than I imagined possible, probably in the region of 10s or so. Astounding, the noise and acceleration was amazing!

A few miles on the m-way and the dynamics of the car were something to behold, accelerating from 80/90 thru to 120+ in a couple of seconds and then braking down back to normal speeds at braking forces that I'd never experienced before.

I'm just glad he didn't offer to let me have a go - I know my limits and this sort of power is something you need to work up to!

Bit of a long first post but I'm still buzzing from the experience and it was 4h ago!

Stunning. If I could afford it I would have already made the phone call and specced the 650bhp 4WD integrated rollcage version.
