New Porsche Quality
Discussion
Yawn.
Jetix, as a "veteran" with ten posts in six months, I respect your opinion.
As the owner of a pristine 2000 996 which does well over 170mph, 0-100mph in around 11 secs and crosses continents in a single bound in air conditioned leather swathed luxury, I am now going to sell it thanks to your incisive commentary and informed opinion.
Cheers.

Hey JFM.
Very nice thanks. Work has been manic, spent quite a bit of time in the US, but I am back now and if you still want me to I would be happy to write a one pager on the ownership experience so far.
I have had a few niggles as you will see from my profile, but everything was sorted out free of chrage and without a cough by OPC.
Would you be interested in a short piece on the last year?
Mag is great by the way, one of the highlights of the month....

I bought a new key ring from OPC 2 years ago for the 993. It has now completely fallen apart. I kept my Porsche key ring that was orginally supplied with the 993 in 1997 and use it for my other car. 8 years on it is completely fine. Sadly, this probably reflects Porsche attitude to quality nowadays - they cannot even get their key rings right.
Aside from the ridiculous assumption of correlation between the build quality of a car versus the key ring, I ask why did you buy it?
I went into my OPC (where I bought the car from granted) and asked for a new key ring. Got one for gratis. So if it falls apart I'm hardly going to break down sobbing (unlike you it seems)
