Porsche have truly lost their way when it comes to design. The cars may drive better than ever, but the styling is poor to say the least.
I drive a 996 C2, my next car will be a 996tt after that I can't see myself driving another Porsche. The 997 in all it's forms does bugger all for me.

I somehow suspect that until seeing one in a dealership 90% of dealer will think they are the dogz bits.

Problem I see, is that ALL porsches now look the same nearly. If you lined up a 997, a boxster & a Cayment side by side & looked head on at them, it would take a second look to realise they were 3 different cars. And that can't be good, surely.

Would suggest That Porsche are moving more to mainstream production routines than previous and confirm why they are most profitable car company around. Still, won't stop me collecting my lovely Cayman 'S' tomorrow

I drive a 997 and wouldn't have considered a 996C2 no matter how good they were because I hated the styling (front lights and lack of flared bits ) although I would make an exception for a GT3 or RS.

Guys, having another look at the front end I think it is less likely this is what the production version will look like.

The main reason is that with the 997 porsche went back to a seperate indicator/sidelight unit similar to the 993 rather than the integrated 996 unit.

Looking at the pictures here and the headlight and bumper arrangement it is more similar to the Cayman which does not have this seperate light unit.

I really don't think Porsche will bring the flagship 911 model out which looks like the Cayman from the front view, especially as the 997 is already differentiated in this respect from the other models.

Back looks good, but front needs a bit of work.

And those alloys. Get them changed. M6 ?

Im undecided. The back looks great. Very meaty.
The front is a little fussy for my tastes, but my problem is with the profile view and also the pics in black. The haunched air in takes just dont work this time around. On the 996 they really looked good.

A 911Turbo should be in Basalt Black or Speed Yellow. The 996 looked sh1te, a fact I think anybody with taste and style agrees on, but the 996tt looked hard as nails. This, well...doesnt. If the 996tt was The Rock, this looks like A Pebble.

I am underwhelmed, my order is looking shakey, or put it another way, given that I currently love and rave about my Sagaris and now have the serious hots for a CTR, these pics place the 997tt 3rd on my cash priority list.
