Just discovered a fluid leak under the front nose of the car .. aaargh , my credit card's heatin up in my pocket!! ( Feels nice tho!!)
Seriously , any Ideas?
Seems of the water variety, clear , odourless , non viscous.
There's no coolant loss .
Are the windscreen washer bottles prone to leaks or could it be something more sinister??
The leak's a very slow one .. couple of droplets a min.

rain running down through the channels and drainage? you can create much the same effect by over filling the washer reservoir.

Hope you're right, Twitchy!! (sorry) Was thinking on the same lines except it's been a fewdays since I filled the water bottle and (believe it or not) it hasn't rained here in Dublin in the last 48 hours. It has been quite frosty tho , perhaps the water in the bottle expanded??

it begins. oh, good.

unlikely that the water has expanded, its a sealed system and all that. probably just condensation from during the night. you get that in Ireland, right? cos its a relatively new invention.

as a general tip, taste it. if it has no taste, it can only be water from the outside. the water in you're rad will have a taste, as will you're screen wash. anything other than that must be condensation.

Don't drink mystery fluids from your car. I had the misfortune to get brake fluid in my mouth years ago. The body decided to evacuate from every available orifice completely simultaneously. Unless your sink is next to your bog you will snap your spine as you try and get your mouth and your ass pointing at the pan at the same time

Washer bottle?

Ex wife had a Boxster S - I believe the washer bottle is in the same location as a 996?

Bottom feed hose had become loose, and it was dripping water. Its sealed into the front NS wing so you can't see anything.

Dealer fixed it FOC.

yes, but the poster has already stated that its not oily, is colourless and odourless, and is almost certainly water, making it unlikely to be brake fluid.

so ignore him, take a nice big swig. perhaps even with a slice of lemon.

You need to remove the NS front wheelarch liner. Not sure if you'll need to remove the front NS wheel though.

Glad no one has come up with tales of doom associated with this leak. I'm assuming nothing's going to explode in the next week or so , by which time it'll be in moneymaker's (sorry ..opc) for it's annual. Thanks for the contributions all.
