I've been to a couple of these track evenings and they are very well run, with very few cars and plenty of clear track time.

I'd love to do a couple more this year if you can get it organised Steve.

Steve, I attended 3 Bedford evenings last summer and thought they were well run with plenty of track time. Definately interested in any your planning this year.

I'd certainly be up for 2 or 3.

Have done Autocar ones and I find the evening ones nearly as good as a full day.

Highly recommended.

I'd be keen, though largely a newbie on track.

Hi Steve,

How are you? I am looking after your old motor as well as I possibly can!

I am delighted to see that you now own a Gallardo and race a Cup Car.....including at the Ring. Amazing. Do you still have your Manthey'd Mk2 GT3? I thought yours was a very nice example when we were at Spa.

Edited to say....sorry if I don't reply to this, I'm away to Iceland for a few days tomorrow.

Very well thanks - yes, I still have the Mk2 - 26,000 miles now and still enjoying every minute!

Did slightly fewer track days last year as I am part of a team racing in the VLN - very much in the beginner class (me at least!) but my friends and I have been having a ball! 2006 season starts March - can't wait.

Glad to hear the 993 is still going well - look forward to catching up at a track soon.

Kind regards

Steve

I'm pretty sure that the Noise limits are 101dB static reading and 87dB on drive by, with 5 or more michrophones placed around the circuit.
I've never had a problem with the static test, but on a cold day it's quite easy to trip the drive by meters, in the worst case scenario it's a case of locating the mic's and staying as far away from them as you can.

Great place to drive nevertheless.

Guys

I am waiting on Bedford to come back to me with dates. They have issues with there PL Insurance, but that will be resolved soon.

The evenings are about the same price as a day event, but the quality of track time is fantastic.

Events Start at 4pm, and track opens at 5pm until 8. They are very relaxed, the marshalls leave us alone (Maybe it's the cases of beer we give them each time).

Then it's of to the local pub afterwards for a BBQ and a beer.

Cheers Sean

Sounds good Sean. And the best thing is you don't need to get up at 6am for an 8.30 sign on, like most trackdays

I'd be very interested, dates permitting, to come along with a Mk1 GT3-MR

Glad to hear you have got into racing. Fantastic stuff.

PS.....I was snowboarding with your old colleague Martin Miles the other week. I'm going to the Goodwood FOS with him as well.

I am hard as nails, me. I never wear a coat going out otherwise the Geordies call you a student, and insults don't get much stronger here. I'm going on a stag do to Iceland. Pickled liver coming up!

feedback...

didn't do one last year as the cost at £199 was very off putting (for a mere 993 targa owner!) for only just a 3 hour session, yes I know less cars is good but Bedford is so large that even with 100 cars I've never really had 'so' much of a problem.... and after a while the flat plains of bedford become somewhat less of a challenge..

put me down as interested but even somewhere like the silverstone national / international circuit for an evening could be of interest, etc etc subject to cost....

regards

I have no idea where you got the cost of £399 from.....Last year it was £199 an event, this year it will be the same, or maybe a little less.

We are working on getting some well known instructors to come and test, and we also have support on site from both JZM and Parr.

I will also talk to Allan at Weltmeister about coming along also.

They really are good fun evenings and everyone has given us good feedback.

Hope to see you there..

Sean
