May I appologise for this sittuation but assure you this matter is getting my full attention.

It is a bit disappointing that the new car is unable to be supplied for the 1st of March and that a confirmation of the date when it will actually get here is still unavailable.

It must have been on that ship with them BMWs

If they had your spec and a build date they must know if they built it. Then they know whether to look for it or not

The Porsche system (from the salesmans desktop computer) tells them what day the car rolled out of the factory. The same system also tracks the car. Porsche GB will know if it's in the UK. Someone is hiding something. Make sure your vehicle is not having the paint touched up somewhere if you get my drift!!

Spoke to my dealer today, asked for latest update on my car which at last contact with them was due to be with me on 15/3/03. He advised me that he could not tell me when the car would be with him or its current location. He said that it was either still in Germany, at the docks or at Porsche GB. He could not even tell me when the next delivery was expected from Porsche. All he could/would tell me is that he would find out about 3 days before it was actually delivered to him. I was supposed to have it 1/3/03, having put the deposit down Feb 2002, I still think the dealer has pushed "someone" infront of me, as you can't tell me that they didn't deliver any cars on 1/3. I find it unreal in this day and age that they do not know where the car is.

I told him that I had to organise things like insurance and tracking devices etc (Supposed to be being fitted at the dealer on 14/3. Response "Sorry, nothing I can do". FFS, I am spending £40k on a car and the dealer can't even get the delivery right.

He still has not quoted me a figure for my part-ex yet, I expect he is going to insult me there as well, but I can't sell it private and get what its actually worth, because I don't have a confirmed delivery date!!!!

I also wanted to be at the garage to see the car come off the transporter - Looks like thats out as well.

Do dealers think they are something special? WE are the customers, WE pay their wages, so why can't WE get a decent service from them!!!

If it wasn't for the Porsche brand, I don't think I would bother buying one of these again, but I will, BECAUSE ITS A PORSCHE!!!!

Rewster.

Have they told you what day it came off the production line?

My car was with me within 2 weeks of it rolling off the production line. My garage advises customers usually get their cars between 2 and 4 weeks of the car leaving the factory, due to transportation. Alarm adjustment/spoiler adjustments at Reading plus DVLA paperwork and preparation at the dealership.

Sorry to hear you guys appear to be being buggered about.

Maybe £90K Turbo buyers get better treatment than us paupers who are "only" spending £40K on a Boxster ?

The dealer in germany where i ordered mine phoned me with an update every 2 days during the build process, when it was finished & road tested I had it shipped direct from Zuffenhausen to arrive in the UK 2 days later for £250.
The dealers know a lot as Daz say's, you are spending enough money as far as i am concerned...go get 'em you,are not being treated with the respect you deserve here.

Saw a transporter full of new Boxsters from Uusikaupunki heading for the ferry at the weekend. Always looks odd because every other car transporter is heading from the docks, not to them. At least they transport them mostly covered, unlike your average punter's Toyota

Dealer told me it was being built week commencing 10/2, and takes 5 days.

I'm sure they know where the car is, but just don't want to tell me, because I will go mental. I wanted it 1/3/03, put my deposit down 12 months in advance, got the spec in within 7 days of being requested for it, so why wasn't it here?

I'm sure something is amiss somewhere, there just not telling me, so when it does eventually turn up, they assume I won't have a go at them, because all I will want to do is play with it!!! WRONG, I can wait 5 more minutes, whilst I have my pound of flesh.

I may be "low" end to them, but £40k for a car is a lot of money to me. When it eventually does turn up, they had better have loaded the boot up with goodies, otherwise Porsche GB are getting a letter.

This is a realisation of a childhood dream, the dealer is making it a bloody nightmare!!!

Hi. I got a new Seal Grey Boxster on March 1st. It was a cancelled order. I'm sorry you're having problems with Porsche, I've normally found them very good. I suggest you write to Porsche GB if you haven't already. A friend of mine did it with his badly serviced 911, and they gave him a free service, and even put aircon in his car free of charge. Compared to other manufacturers, I've found Porsches service levels exemplory. Give Porsche GB a fax. They have a vested interest in keeping people happy.

Good Luck

Spoken to Porsche GB, who are looking into it for me, although this morning I almost told the dealer to stick his car where the sun don't shine (Would have done if it wasn't a Porsche).

"RANT BEGINS"

I went in to get my part ex-valued, sort out the paperwork for when the car eventually turns up. He offered me nearly 40% below Glasses "trade" on a car that books at £4,000. It wouldn't have bothered me if it was a nail, but it isnt. The car body work is in excellent condition considering its 76k miles (No dents, or scratches that won't polish out) and the interior is spotless. Its not a Porsche, so obviously it won't go on his forecourt, but I heard him in the office talking to a "trader" on the phone, who offered him £3,000 for the car, I know this because he repeat it. He then proceeded to tell me that he does not make anything on the part-exchanges, and offered me £2,500!!!!. I was not best pleased - someone is taking the P***, because he even admitted to me that the car would go on the forecourt for £5,000, but the garage would have to offer a warrenty with it, and make any necessary repairs. I know how much a warranty on this car would cost the garage, about £250. I also explained that the car was covered by a manufacturers warranty at the minute, and if they wanted to check the car over, I would get any repairs done with this, but there won't be any because the car has only just been serviced. NOT INTERESTED, thats the price I can give you for the car at the moment, but he did say that he would ring a few more dealers during the week to see if he could better this.

I have also found out how much the dealer makes on a Boxster, because he left the invoice on the desk in front of me. The dealer gets an 8.5% discount on MRRP, which is not as much as thought it would be.

I HOPE THE DEALER SEES THIS BECAUSE HE WILL KNOW EXACTLY WHO I AM, AND EXACTLY HOW BADLY HE INSULTED ME TODAY - and so will Porsche on Monday!!!!

"RANT OVER"

Well, the dealer will have to wait now until I sell my car. If the Boxster is sitting on his forecourt for 2-3 weeks, he will only have himself to blame. Hope the interest on his stocking loan is astronomical!!!!

Rewster,

Tell them to stick the car or ask for the car at their invoice price. Print out this thread take it into them and say you will publicise their conduct as widely as you can if you are not satisfied. If what you say is factual then there is little they can do about it. 8.5% is a small margin but do bear in mind there are all sorts of additional dealer incentives that they get.

Spoken to a mate about this, he is bringing someone to see it tommorrow, so fingers crossed my car will be sold.

I would love to tell them to stick it, but its hopefully only 10-14 days away from delivery, then I will never have to speak/deal with that garage again.

Will see what Porsche says on Monday, and hope that I get some form of customer survey through the post, that will make interesting reading.

WHAT ABOUT SERVICE AND WARRANTY

Where I live, the distance to Northampton/Sutton Coldfield/Solihull and Nottingham are about the same, so I really have a choice of where I put the service work, although its probably going to end up at Sutton Coldfield, because the sales team there were great and really enthusiasic about the marque, one of them spent about 45 minutes with me even though he knew my deposit was placed somewhere else.

Hopefully, I won't need any warrenty work.
