Insurance Renewal

I went with Performance Marque as they include free cover for Porsche Club Track-days. They also give you a discount equivalent to the cost of Porsche Club membership if you are a Porsche Club member.
So I'd suggest joining the club, checking out the yellow pages at the back, and calling 'em if you need Track Day cover. Privelige have stopped doing it - and so, it seems, have many others.
If you don't need track cover have you tried the supermarkets? Mate of mine saved £200 with Sainsbury's on his Impreza..

I''m with direct line.
However, I'd reccommend you try www.confused.com.
fill out your details, and they'll e-mail a list of quotes from different people to you. Far easier and a good base point.

Also try barclaycard insurance. Cost me less to insure my 99/T 996 convertible than it did to insure my 1994 M3 convertible. Thats despite one claim after my policy was last up for renewal.
They also run a deal called "bungee", whereby they will beat any renewal quote.
Paying less than £1k.
28yrs (male) living in London. Car garaged ...and no tracker but CAT1 alarm

A few of us commute by train, relegating cars to second usage. Scottster also gets his motoring thrills driving Mrs Scottster's Ford Fiesta 1.1
I am a big fan of the second car concept. I like the fact you can park a crappy second car anywhere without worry about theft or damage, and which couls also do 40mpg on motorway journeys. I'm sure a good 1-2k car would pay for itself many times over in keeping main car costs down (depreciation through mileage, fuel consumption, less wear items etc.)

Look Domster - It's a 1,197cc baby actually and pleasure is all relative!! I assure you the self satisfaction and excitement of getting that mother up to 95 on the motorway is every bit as exciting (and scarey) as doing 200mph in an F1 car!!
Who said anything about 'only' doing that many miles - I was merely refering to how many miles the car would 'show' for the year...... ooops, did I say that officer? Only joking.
On a serious note I agree totally with Domster, we're ok as we train to central London and the cars are weekend play things - I happen to pefer that as there was nothing enjoyable about being stuck in long traffic jams or doing 10 mph for two hours a day in my 993 whilst commuting.
