new boxster s owner and tuning Q
Discussion
Just bought a new boxster s(cancelled order in the right colour - silver! with sat nav, phone mod, full leather(blue), sports seats, 6CD, prof stereo, alu small pack) on saturday (was looking at tuscan/boxster s/m3). Eventually settled on the boxster based on better handling, better brakes(inc stability) better quality, better residuals etc etc.
Now the only thing it wasn't the best on (3rd in fact) was performance, how and what should I do to improve performance? Chip and exhaust? Who do I go to? Any advice gratefully received.

The usual way to go is to consult with either Gemballa or Ruf. They should be able to sort you out with as much bhp as you can handle.
There is some doubt as to the longevity of the engines thereafter - but 400+ bhp in a Boxster sounds - enticing.
Ruf, I believe, can put a 996 3.6 engine into a Boxster - which should be very reliable and stormingly potent.
Ask yourself though - do you *really* need that much go. 260bhp makes the car faster than 99% of cars on the road and the *handling* will keep you ahead of most things.
The amount of money it would cost you to upgrade you could buy a hell of a lot of driver training for - which will make you quicker in *any* car...
