Great minds think alike. Many years ago I registered my 3.6 turbo with PCGB and spoke to a snotty chap who runs the turbo register. I told him I had just purchased a 3.6 turbo II. "No you have not you have purchased a 965 3.6 Turbo". I then began to give him all the details of another 911 turbo that I had leaving it until the very end before telling him that it was a race car built from a 3.2 Carrera narrow bodied G50 chassis.

WOW!!

I'm really surprised there aren't more people nominating 996 gt3's and tt's..

They'd have to be in my list .. Both are tops for being the very best at what they designed to do , and yet can fullfill the everyday commute with ease.

Or is this the reason they're not featured as highly ... Not hardcore enough for y'all?? confused

Well I see you point. I have a 996 TT and as an everyday car for the school runs etc it is simply superb but at the end of the day I guess what Im getting at with my list is that if I could only have 1 Porsche then that is the order of preference. I have to consider the odd track day and the TT doesn't feature I'm affraid. 3.6 Turbo II gets my vote on the grounds that it is beautiful and I remember the one I had with very fond memories.

Why does the boxster have to be included in the worst five when it quite blatantly isnt!!! The boxster caused many a person who couldnt afford a 911 to buy a very very good roadster which to this day is better than any of its rivals!!!

I know that you may have just inserted this for illustrative purposes, but this isn't a GT1.

This is a magazine artist's idea of what the mooted but unlikely successor to the CGT might look like, isn't it?

the same magazine said it was indeed the new CGT successor to be also named the GT1, not the older GT1 pictured below, but yes your right it is only an artist impression but it looks to be one helluva car.

Have you driven the GT1? If so, any chance you could describe the experience(s)?
