Looked in the old postings and couldn't find an answer to this one so forgive me if I missed it
Is it ok to replace the rear pair alone?
I'm rapidly chewing through mine (3000 miles since 1st Feb)
It currently has Pirelli P7000 all round and I was thinking of giving CONTI SPORT-CONTACT a go?
Any thoughts?

I've got the Contisport N2's, my fronts have done about 12,000 miles and have some life left in them yet, my first pair of rears lasted 7000 miles and my second set seem to be lasting longer.
Mind you, my first set did about 150 miles around Imola race track too so i guess that may have shaved a little of their life off.

Rossos are amazing in the dry, reasonable in the wet (though no better than the Conti's IMHO) but they disappear FAST! I wrecked my Rosso rears in just under 5000 miles.
Saying they're amazing in the dry - i never lost grip on the public road with them, but i never have with the Conti's either... i did overheat my Rossos on a track right at the end of their life though and then they suddenly got very slippery indeed.
Remember though that i have the wide body tyre sizes and 4wd, though i'm not sure how much difference that would make.
285/30R18 rears.

Grant3 said: Conti's are great but so are P Zero's which won the recent Autocar tyre test. Which ever you choose, get a price from Micheldever Tyres down south...a must for a price check.
Agree about Micheldever, that's where i get mine (50 miles from my house!).
Only thing i'd say about the autocar tyre test is that they test a relatively "normal" car (M3 if i remember right) and my wee beasty is anything but normal (err, 63% rear, 37% front weight distribution).
In each case you're also looking at N rated tyres, i.e. very different to the standard compound and tread pattern that you'd find on the M3. I've had both Pirellis and Contis on my car which is why i voiced the opinion.
If you're not doing that much mileage and/or you only ever drive the car on dry days then i'd go for the Zeros.
I've done 18,000 miles in 8 months, i notice the extra wet weather grip and longevity that the Contis provide.
All IMHO of course.

Micheldever is a place near Winchester in hampshire i beleive..they do mail order...www.micheldever.co.uk
Rossos-good choice!
The N rating refers to, I beleive, subtle chnages in tyre construction for tyres rated and tested for Porsches, that started with N0 and has now progressed to N3.
The basic advice is not to mix difernt N ratings on a car, although Michelin will advize if you must do this.
