So is your mind made up then? You're going for a Cayman and slapping the S badge on the back? How long do you have to keep this company car for?

I had a 2.7 Boxster as a company car for three years.

Covered 75,000 miles. Comfortable on long hauls and ate mile after mile without problem.

the car itself needed two RMS, ut it never broke down nor let me down in any way whatsoever

My good friend
I used a boxster 2.5 as an everyday car for 9 years, covered 360.000km in it, with lots of grin on my face. I am sure you 'll enjoy every single km.
I now have a 2001 C2 cab againas an every day car.
Enjoy it

Don't think so k. think I'll just relax and take pleasure in the fact that I've been lucky enough to own and enjoy both these fabulous cars. I'll leave the negativity to you old chap.

No problem.I love driving my car too,as i did the csl,4s,gt3 etc..however im am not blinded by the fact that they are not flawless ,most people spend most of their time bigging them up because they own them.Great cars but not as great as Porsche 'fans' blab on about, they actually go wrong quite a lot..imo of course.

I hear you - that's why I don't mind admitting that my BoxsterS is, so far, the best Porsche I've owned. I'm sure the GT3 will be giving me some very major thrills along the way - in fact it already has - but it won't consistently deliver day in day out enjoyment in the way the Boxster did. Don't exactly want to part with it yet though! BTW 2x Boxsters 2x 996tts, 1x 997S and 1x 997GT3 = three hood motor failures and one gear linkage faiure - all same car! - and that's it trouble wise.

Anyone that doesn't rate a GT3 as one of the finest cars money can buy just hasn't tried hard enough. Fact. If you're in any way underwhelmed by a GT3s performance, then you've no doubt set limits as to what you feel the car can do that are FAR lower than the car can actually achieve. They're a little bit compromised on the road, and certainly not as easy to drive as a TT, but in a well sorted GT3 on track (where you should be taking one if you have one) the performance is mind-boggling. Hello TT... goodbye TT.

I don't get what's so hard to understand about this.

As I'm the only one who's refered to the GT3 here I guess that you're aiming this at me! If so can I respectfully suggest that you have either completely misread or completely misunderstood my posts?

No no, not at all. I thought I read into kayc's post above yours that he was inferring again that the GT3 was a bit crap/disappointing. I might have imagined it.

Say what you will about the GT3 but it'll always be a tintop.
