996 GT2 prices go the same way as 993 or will they go the same as 996 TT?
and whilst we're about it, are all the 996 GT2's lovingly tucked up in the garage or are they being driven?

Apparently they are all backwards in hedges, especially this time of year
As to going the same way as the 993 GT2, personally I wouldn't bet on it.

mine gets driven every day - about 1500 miles/month .....
prices -who knows, but these are very rare (increasingly so) and special cars (much more so than the 996tt) so perosnally I see values staying pretty good.....

Yeah I reckon they may tread water, but I can't seem them going up to 130k anytime soon. If it's what you want from a car I don't see much point in waiting any longer. Just going to get harder to find one that's straight.
Ballast - thanks.

With such limited numbers in the UK (and the fact the press slagged them off as being "neither fish nor fowl" ) they have all the makings of a latterday 964 RS.
Best keep them wrapped up in cotton wool for the next 5 years , then watch them rise in value as everyone realises they're the last un-fettered rear drive turbo car Porsche made without any electronic driver aids.
P.S My buttocks are firming up nicely with all the clenching they've been doing recently (the car did a wonderful impression of a rudderless boat on the M42 last night then minutes later the rears lit up and tried to catch up with the fronts) A new set of tyres required PDQ methinks...................

**Awaits the sunshine kid to come bouncing on this one tomorrow morning as soon as he reads his google alert he has set up here on the porsche forum for the words 996TT**
Pleased to hear people are out and about in them. I was beginning to think I was the only one!
Can I just ask as a slight aside. How do you 996GT2 owners get on with the standard carbon brakes. Assuming you are using the cars for road work and occasional track days. I know there is/was much moaning from the GT3 guys about these brakes not being suiable for extended track work.

just a soft right foot
there you go slippy, it does have traction control but of the organic variety
You are of course totally correct, they're all fitted with Porsches old style SRF (sensitive right foot) traction control system !
Ceramic brakes ? best not go there...................
I've read lots of adverse comments (I know Slippydiff was far from happy), but personally I think they're great.
Much better than my Turbo; much better feel to them. I was never convinced that my Turbo brakes were ever going to stop me!
They do squeal/squeak a bit, but then so does the whole car, so I'm not too worried.

I've been driving mine but not as a daily driver. Still, i have clocked up s fair few miles since i have had her, mostly in these horrid wet cold conditions. The sensitive right foot works very well and i find it is aided by the aftermarket porsche wooden block
I can't see the residuals dipping much below 50k but i also don't see them rising significantly. There are not that many about and good ones will become more rare so who knows?
