I didn't know Porsche do/did an advert like that - has it been show on TV and if so in which country?

BTW cool advert - actually gave me goosebumps for some reason!

Posted on Rennlist a few months back, it is indeed a belter (just don't let KayC know we're looking at it !)

My dream Porsche appeared in Car magazine back in 1981 (I'm 43), a black 930 3.3 Turbo that I always remember didn't have a passenger side door mirror !! (it was an optional extra ?!) I was totally smitten by the car and read the article hundreds of times thereafter.

In the end it took me two decades to get my first Porsche (and it wasn't a 930 Turbo but a 964 RS)

That's a very cool advert and true for so many of us.

Never became a pro footballer but managed my first 911 at 28. Nothing like fulfilling your boyhood dream - hope I'm still driving a 911 when I'm 70.

20 years on the button. its a gem of an ad, though i'm glad Porsche dont advertise on tv in the uk. if i wasn't such a car nut it would look v cheesy!

Not sure where to go from here though, picking up your first 911 is hard to top

Not so sure I like the short wheel base U.S. Model though..I am glad my 997 doesnt look like that!!
Another cracking advert on YOU TUBE with a red and yellow 997 racing along, flames and dancing babes etc. I would post it but I dont know how...muppet!
Never seen a U.K. advert though...guess us Brits just buy regardless.

Oddly makes me feel rather emotional (must be getting soft in my old age!!), also makes me realise how fortunate I am to own a 911!

Sums everything up in such an emotional way..... brilliant.

Made by Americans for the American market I believe - the f*ckers are so good at this sort of thing.

Every time I see it I can remember the first 911 I ever saw - 20 years later it became a reality.

Excellent advert. I remember going in to the Porsche centre in Cardiff (merlin Porsche back then I think) before I started uni, sat in a 993 and looked around the all new 996 - the sales guy let me have one of the 996 sales books (still got it). I'd always wanted a 911, I promised myself a 996 before I was 30, bought my first one at 28, crashed it at 28.5

I'm contemplating selling my new 996 due to having a baby on the way, watching this advert has really made this decision much more difficult.

Why do you think I posted it.

Cheers for that.

I'm leaning towards keeping it now. Went out for a drive in it last night, it sounded and drove better than ever and scared me half to death on several roundabouts, no other car can do that, except maybe a 2CV.

cool advert.

when i was doing one of my first test drives in a 996tt middle of last year i stopped at a junction to turn left. turning into the road i was on was a small coach full of kids approx 7yr - 10ys old. most of the offside kids were looking at the porsche etc. at that moment i wondered if i had planted any "i want a porsche when i go up" seeds in their heads.

people say that porsche's don't attract attention in the same way as a ferrari etc and it's true to a degree but it attracts a different kind of attention imo.

Loved this video so much, I googled my way to this one:

....took a while to load into media player for me, but well worth it
