I've seen this ad 3 or 4 times (everytime its reposted...) and I still get all misty eyes. Makes me remind of me and now I have one at 28 makes me remind of my 2 year old boy, my father had 911's since I was born. Only a car that has been evolving for 40 years can capture the pasion of 3 generations.
Believe it or not my 2 year old only says 3 or 4 words but is ABSOLUTELY mad about cars, gigling everytime I sit him at the wheel but the Porsche is his favorite and when I sit him at the wheel theres no gigling whatsoever, he just concentrates on grabbing the wheel and sees the car with different eyes...

Excellent advert. I remember going in to the Porsche centre in Cardiff (merlin Porsche back then I think) before I started uni, sat in a 993 and looked around the all new 996 - the sales guy let me have one of the 996 sales books (still got it). I'd always wanted a 911, I promised myself a 996 before I was 30, bought my first one at 28, crashed it at 28.5
I'm contemplating selling my new 996 due to having a baby on the way, watching this advert has really made this decision much more difficult.

If it helps, I got mine almost 2yrs ago, as per everyone above, the self-promise of owning one before I was 30 (was actually a month before my 31st...hey, not too bad a guess at 12!)
Our little-one came along almost a year ago, and in her rear-facing seat, can still be "installed" into the back of mine (996C2 as well). All 100% safe and checked by the shop that sold it to us. There will be a break between outgrowing this seat and being ready for boosters (her new seat is front facing and wont fit this car, stays in the big red bus).
In short, I reckon you could have another year with the 911 as long as your little one doesnt grow too quick!
I can totally relate to the ad too. The first time I fell in love with the Porsche brand was actually wasting my youth playing an old arcade racing game called 'Big Run' which features the 959 in the Paris-Dakar. Then just going into my 5th year in high school, watching Will Smith driving the 964 in Bad Boys totally sealed the deal, I was converted.
