Why not try Manu at Scuderia Systems? He can get Ruf ones in if a Tubi system isn't available, and he will beat any price 'cos he loves PHers so much.

Cheers

I can make you one Herman - Basically I heard that you can cut the back box off and replace it with a hollowed out melon. Will need replacing more often than a stainless example but will sound superb.

Oh, and you can eat it when you're done with it.

I've heard that Hayward & Scott are good - thinking about getting a system for my S2, maybe in conjunction with a 9M quad throttle intake manifold...

Heard mixed reports on h & S to be honest, look, sound ok but not always much in the way of hp gains...all allegedly of course and certainly no reason not to buy such a fine addition for anyones car!

We are fitting a lightweight stainless system to our development car next week, once tested we will be making the system available for sale, but no firm price as yet.

Are you expecting any hp gains 9M ? I take it you will be testing for this on your RR.

I know I'm very sad for asking and that I'm taking the p1ss but can you record the noise and save it to a wav file, then post it on here or on your website. I've yet to here a sports exhaust on a 968 and I'd like to know how much difference it's gonna make.

I can feel a plan coming on, this could be yet another 9m first. Can someone call Steve at 9m on Monday and let him know what our minimum requirement to record Wav files onto the site?
I suppose you will want me to record the Quad Throttle Body set up as well, eh? Just remember that we do have to find time to work on the cars as well so I take it that for all our efforts you will all be supporting us in the future?

Well if you do manage to get 300 reliable bhp from an S2 for less than £3k then I am very likely to spend the money
(as long as my engine hasn't expired by then - still making a funny noise )

i was going to post the same thing herman, ive had my 968 Sport now for 2 days and just got back from my 1st decent drive with some emptyish roads to explore

totally in love now, wasnt pushing the car but could start feeling the fabled balance on roundabouts and some decent corners, the engine delivery does actually take some getting used to, there seems to be a flat spot just below 4000rpm and this is more visible in the lower gears, also reckon the tyres are overinflated but checking them they are as recommended, ive always run my cars a few psi less than recommended to soften the ride/road texture, would this be a big problem on a 968?

the one problem with the car really is the exhaust/engine note (and a slight lack of power!) , so i would definitely be interested in a decent sounding system as long as it isnt too loud (i.e road legal)

PS anyone know if the exhaust tip is removable? mine is slightly rusted but the backbox is fine

cheers

Yes I'd like to know this too - can you get a replacement? I imagine it's a similar fitting on the 944. Mine's looking like some cheap Halfords recycled baked bean can...

i saw some 968 tips the other day at type 911 in beckenham.scary price though i think it was just above £100!!
I think I would use some serious elbow & solvol autosol before opening the wallet for an exhaust tip.

I don't think polishing is going to fix it - it's rusty and cracking up in places. £100 is a bit steep though, most I'd want to pay for a shiny bit of tube is £25
I think I'll save my money for something useful...

Andrew,,stuttgart connection have a cargraphics sports exhaust for the S2...I beleive it is www.cargraphic.co.uk They are a bit of a bolt on specialist but do sell a few sports exhausts..I agree on the tip £100 is better used towards a new rear box.

You can replace the tips but expect to pay a rip off price for shiney ones - That's the price these things are (God knows why when you can get Halfords Nove tips for about £9.99)

I had to pay about £150 to get a pair of 993 tips when i changed that.

Herman, still think you're sad mate...... but I'll have a listen if there's a file about

ps: Only a point in it now!!

Anyone know what the 'meister needs to do ? I'm only a software engineer so you can't expect me to know

Won't be a first I'm afraid, Billy Boat Exhausts do little video clips of cars taking off from a standing start.

Scottster,

Huge boos when first Cole, then Zola was substituted leaving blank firing JFH on the pitch. F***ing unbelievable. Sorry to go off topic.

I think all you need is a PC or laptop with a microphone. Then open the Soundrecorder (sndrec32.exe somewhere in the windows folder) and make sure its recording from the mic input on the sound card. I think the default sound file length is 60 seconds.

Sorry Colin you've been beaten to it by Simon at www.essentialstyling.com/ He has videos and sound files of the exhausts that he is selling

He doesn't have a QTB though
