Quick message for Domster - is your e-mail address thing working, old fruit?

I've tried several abusive assaults over the last couple of days but am constantly repelled by some electronic demon bugschwein.

Oh yes, on the subject of aniciallry accoutrements, if one did feel a yearning to creep orf to the local fairway for an early morning bout of irons related frustration, why not look at Porsche's outrageously overpriced accessory catalogue and consider a 'sporting roofrack.'

You could probably stash a 3 wood in the bugger and look like one of those hard nosed Fritz types with a slick hair do and a rendezvous with some arrogant uber-piste domination in St.Morritz...er, dribble, bollocks.

Alternatively, why not just balance 'em from the back seat and through the window? Alternatively, why not take up tennis? Ok, somewhat emasculatory, perhaps but at least you can enjoy a nice bottle of something lightly chilled with no more strain to your person than light pressure to the neck as you sedately pan left, then right, left then right...

Paragon maybe?

Several of us have used Camtune in Godalming. Bought mine there and pleased with them- no patronising or sales bullshit

I've been to Camtune, Paragon and Henry's and found them all good. I guess Henry is a little more, well, eccentric than most, but I ended up buying my 964C2 from him and have to say on my experience I'd recommend him, YMMV.

Hmmm, but he didn't give you your deposit back, did he? Or did I misread the situation?

If he was a very very nice man, he might have been more flexible and let you have your depoit back after the inspection showed the faults that neededto be corrected. Letting you have them corrected at 'trade price' was fair, but hardly valiant as you weren't really able to walk away...

I could have pushed it, but chose not to, as having Henry pay half of a 4k rebuild seemed like reasonable value for peace of mind over the next 60k miles plus.

Remember that included 24k service and new discs and pads, plus induction and exhaust mods.

Overall I think I got fair value, and I think if I pushed it I could have walked away with my deposit. Yes, I agree that Henry is a tough nut/typical second-hand car salesman, but what do you expect?

The guy at camtune tried to sting me for new cams on my 968CS trade-in price, I expect these kind of ruses from traders (Had had full belts and braces job 12 months prev.)

YMMV, Henry is at least open with the 'you get it as seen' price and the 'we'll service it and rectify any faults and guarentee it' price, you take your chances. At least with Henry he guarentees that should things go pear shaped you won't pay more than the second price, which is more than most will give you.

I guess as he's somewhat of a 'character' he rubs some people up the wrong way, hence the polarized opinions on this forum.

If you can recommend someone who gives you guarantees, quality cars, rock-bottom prices and great customer service too, I'd love to know!

Just my thoughts,

Go and see Joel at RSJ - You'll get all of the above and he isn't patronising like some traders. (But if that's your cuppa I'm sure he could call your Mum a slag for a laugh tho )

In answer to the orginal question. Yes, one set in the back + a power caddy. One between the legs of the passenger if a bloke. Battery for the power caddy goes in the rear foot well. The idea of the flight bag is a good one, however if its raining either don't play or take the wifes car. The rest of the kit, shoes, etc in the hood. Sorted!!

With respect to buying, look at going private, remember that's where the dealers get their used cars. History is everything and make sure you have a full PPI before parting with your cash.

Cirdfords couldn't even be arsed to move a couple of cars to let us have a good look at an SC when I last graced their showroom with my presence...but that was 15 years ago...so no doubt they're a nicer bunch of people now...incidentally they lost the sale 'cos of their attitude

Haven't checked with Golf Clubs yet but I had a complete drum kit in the back of my 930 on Saturday.

I'd be confident of getting clubs in there but if using the front boot would have to get some of those telescopic ones <g>
