Good work Pugsey ,when you kiss the RS goodbye eventually and climb into the AMV8 open top ..will you miss the pace or morph into pipe and slippers mode ?

Great at morphing me - like to try most things once. I like to think that particular change will require me to morph into a Bond like character cruising down to Provence via some stupendous driving roads.

Wrong question. The right one would be why is the custommer he's already got lined up prepared to pay OVER list? But hey, what do I care!

God....... These footballers really do have have more money than sense or is it more money than time? Anyway, they would have only needed to look around and is there not currently 2 at OPC's for list?

Well done Pugsey.clap

I think Nottingham sold their Black one this week ? I can only see one for sale now at an OPC, which is mentioned in another thread.
..........................Just a matter of time !

This post really smacks of 'know the price of everything but the value of nothing'

I can't believe you can get anywhere near appreciating the full capablities of something like a 997GT3 in a scant 4 months. How many laps of the 'Ring, Spa, Dijon, Donnington have you packed in? How many blasts over the Cambrian mountains? The Alps? I'll bet the answer to these is proximate to zero - just to achieve zero depreciation. What a total waste.

But you have 4 months of depreciation free motoring to look forward to in the RS, then 4 months in a topless Aston then....... Great cars but shallow motoring experiences?

Sorry for being cynical, but I like to get under the skin of a car, properly understand it, use it to its full potential and enjoy it on some of the best roads & tracks in the world. Avoiding depreciation is not my primary objective.

Hi,

As others on here know the GT3 was sold due to unexpected chance of an RS - not to avoid depreciation. Mind you if I want to enjoy a different and fabulous car every four/six months or so for free what's wrong with that? Of course, as you suggest, you don't actually know what use I put the GT3 to and neither do you know what other 'longtermers' I have in my barn. Four months - IF that's all it is - in the topless Aston will take me through the summer and on some wonderful continental jaunts thanks very much! You go your way and I'll go mine.wavey

Pugs.

Nice reply..but rrg is right, how can you ever find out what a car is like in 4 months? You can do what you like with your money as we all do but 4 months of ownership hardly qualifies someone as an expert. To say you have had a 997gt3 and it is awesome in such a short period of time is impossible, having said that i had my 996gt3 for the same period of time and slated it so what can i say?paperbag

Hey Pugsey,
When do you get RS? White with black wheels etc would have been my choice for rs, there's a great pic of one on stuttgart9s web site.

Just had to drop mine off at opc for vts and reg etc now more waiting until the 1st!

Look forward to seeing pics of your car soon.

BTW if the same RS upgrade opportunity happened to come a long with no loss money I would have done the same.

That's very kind of you kayc - I feel so much better knowing I've got your OK to spend my money! Where exactly did I say I was an expert, I don't remember? I assure you it is entirely possible to own a GT3 'for such a short period of time' and say it's awesome. Frankly it's possible to drive one for four HOURS let alone months and know it's awesome. As for needing more time to fully explore the car I can just see it now when I turn up for a race later this year. Team - "testing for the weekend is on Friday Pugs." Me - "whadaya mean ONE day! I need at least six months in the car!!!!" Another angle for you - I don't criticise you for staying in one car for a long time, that's your choice. Similarly it's my choice to try lots of different cars over the same period - oh and not loose out financially. You stay at home, I'll get out and see the world. Cheers.byebye

Hi mate - how did the trip go? RS should be ready for last week in March. Thanks for comment re. RS upgrade it was starting to look as if it was some kind of major crime! Strong willed man driving the car then forcing yourself to wait again!
