I suppose the loaded city boys don't give a fig about 20k losses, due to their bonuses etc. A little different for me though!!! If I had a GT2 I'd wax it every day and run my tongue along it's rear wing. Dribble. Sigh....

DEr that 215 I guess you are looking at a minimum of 550bhp,,,but is that on the standard 6th gear ratio?

I don't believe the standard beetle gearbox will put up with 550bhp

Is it an evolution of the G50 like the GT3 box?

If so, 550 would be no problem. Ultimas use G50s from 3.2 Carreras etc and a 993 G50 I know of currently has 644 bhp going through it, without complaint.

Wouldn't want to put that through a standard 996 box, tho'

The box will, I'm sure, cope with 550.

The clutch won't, however, so it'll be going in the bin (lucky bin, I say...)

Having said that, the clutch on mine is the original and has spent the last 2 and a bit years wrestling with nearly 500 gee gees with all protest.

Wikkid. Innit?

The Gemballa ad's indicate a water cooled racing box on the 700 pony versions.

Gemballa-schmalla, Paul; stop dithering, get yer finger oot & do the biz, alright?

(I look forward to lining up alongside you at Brunters, several months from now, trying to imagine which part of The Ring Cycle will be blasting forth from yo ICE, as it were.)

Beaver,I`m looking at a 996 GT3 maybe 2 years old.

Doomster,thanks,I`m on the case.

GT2`s are incredible pieces of kit, last year at Elvington in Yorkshire one turned up and recorded 186mph from a standing start on a measured 1.5 mile top speed event.

However,Dazren & his 996 turbo rule the waves this year,so far......

Henry.

The GT3 box will take 550, I'm pretty sure.

It is based on the 993 GT2, and that wasn't far off that output.

I nearly got a GT3 gearbox for my Ultima, but sadly the sale fell through

GTRHenry, I'm considering selling my GT3 Club Sport : 2000 (W), black, Rhd, 13,500 miles as I have three cars (also Evo 7 Extreme S and Radical SR3) and might slim it down to two soon - haven't decided yet.

Drop me an email and I'll give you a shout if I decide to sell the GT3. Cheers.
