Well, it happened.

Dom's mate Mick bought my 993 C4S last night.

I shall buy another when i get to the US but in the meantime i think i may have to get a hire car for a few weeks.

I'm happy though cos i know Mick will look after her and Autofarm will be servicing her.

Am i alone or are any of you lot this attached to your cars?

Yes there are people more attached to their cars. Can't imagine who.

Think about what you'll be buying when you get to the US, and seconding bluesatin's comment, when are you off?

I sold the Chimaera 500 I'd driven for 3 1/2 years almost exactly 2 years ago.
I cried as it was driven away - my wife still takes the piss.
The reason - I moved to the States, I'm now looking for a '99 / '00 996 after 2 years driving a POS.

VS, You are not alone....when my 996 rolled out of the gates for the last time, I just thought that I had made a big mistake and wanted to call the guy on his mobile to bring it back... I had to keep telling myself that it was only a collection of metal and plastic... even though I knew better.

I guess it's better to part on a good note, than be feeling that you're getting shot of a POS.

Ah - well what you should do is continue moving up! I went from a Celica (fab) to a Chimaera (A-mazing) to a Cerbera (incredible) to a new house (Greg picked the car up from my house an hour after I moved in!)... Now I'm on a TypeR and going up to a Porker - but you get the idea! Keep raising the bar and aiming higher!

VS - no!

I'm totally on message to use Campbell speak, on this one.

When I got rid of my Cerbera I filmed the last hours on mini-DV; to this day, I subject any poor schmuck who falls prey to the lair of Shellob McStrictor to my preposterous intonations of despair and woe.

I mean for Chrissake - here was a car that I'd watched being born - like an errant child, it caused me more grief than a season ticket at Goodison and yet with all, it's magic cast a spell only a Diablo could ever hope to overcome.

Then again, you should have heard the wailing and seen the gnashing of teeth when I ditched the Red Label - now that really was a killer.

God knows how Il Dokic is gowna feel when he ditcheth the Macca! I mean, that'd be just TOO cruel!

Sorry all, been horrendously busy.

Brought back with a thump by news of JonDokic. Awful news. He was such a character around this place. Will be sorely missed.

As to you lot, i shall be leaving on June 14th. As far as replacements, i have been test driving everything i could get my hands on recently and the only things i really like were M-coupe and 4 year old E55 AMG. However, i am still awaiting a test drive of a 993TT.

Current ideas? E55 as a daily, 993 C4S as a weekender (though a TT could still be on the cards - need to drive one!).

Hope you are all keeping well and enjoying your pork. You lucky b*ggers. Boo hoo.
