PCM in Jan02 Boxster S

All, am about to get a Boxster S with PCM.
It is the 'Old' Boxster S generation with PCM & tape player (CD changer in the boot).

I do not really like the tape player of the PCM.

*Is it possible to replace the tape player (only!) of the PCM with a Dash-Board CD player?
*Or does the whole system needs to be changed?
*Can a 2003 Boxster PCM unit replace a 2002 Boxster Unit?

In short:
What are your advices to get a CD player on the dashboard when PCM is fitted?

No.

Not practical.

I don't mean to be unhelpful - but I don't believe this is really an option. Just put 6 CDs in the changer!

No way unless you replace the whole thing, and that'll cost you a fortune!
I thought it was a disgrace when I ordered mine that the PCM came with tape player!!! This is the reason why I ordered Traffic Pro instead.
A Tape player in 2002!!! I love Porsche but honestly, a tape player in the 21th century in a car fitted with ground breaking tech. Sad really...
