Parked my GT2 outside the shops in Daventry (yeah, I know.. toilet of a town, so expect everything I get).. was gone no more than 5 minutes, and returned to find my bonnet badge had been nicked. Barstewards.

Fortunately, no paint/bodywork damage..phew.

Zipped over to Arlingtons who fitted a new one for £25 inc.labour+vat.

Could have been worse.

But if I got my hands on the scrote that did it..

£25 would be the cheapest bill I've ever had from an OPC. Still feels worse than a £2grander though when it's not your fault/use causing the bill.

Bloody scum, when I was a kid (of the non goat variety) I used to admire nice cars not vandalise them. I blame the fecking beastie boys, should've been strung up at birth.

Sorry to hear you had trouble...glad it was so easy and cheap to fix.

Just be glad you didn't come upon them in the act, do them damage, and end up paying for it in court...

Grrrr. Scrotes.

I went for the sticker option on the 914.. I knew it was unlikely anyone was going to try and steal it.. (and it was cheaper )

The dealer said the badges are now designed to snap-off rather than taking the bodywork with it, which is a relief !

You would think the little sod's would be to scared to touch such a car. They had the tiny m badges off my alloys a while back. Such a pain in the ass to go to the dealer for. No doubt they have made there way onto some A reg 316. I'll keep my eye out for a 'vauxhall nova GT2'

having said that he has got enough dough yet he never used to own a Porker,so he ain't that smart.

At least if you live near Daventry you will not have to drive so far next time. Arlingtons close end of the month and a new dealer opens near Towcester

These cretinous little scrotes were responsible for the nicking of VW badges off so many cars in the late eighties, it was not worth replacing them. Clearly todays youth have have higher aspirations on the vandalism scale and have thus moved upmarket.

Correction - the cretinous little scrotes who nicked the badges were responsible for nicking the badges.

Just the same as they are now (as I assume S-Club Steps Blue 7 aren't yet wearing car badges round their necks).

No respect in society any more and much of this is down to parents abdicating responsibility for the behaviour of their offspring.

If, as a kid (or even as an adult!) my parents had caught me with car badges (stolen goods etc) on me, I would have had the sh*t kicked out of me. The mere fear of reprisals from angry parents prevented me from erring too far from the straight and narrow (that and the fact that I'm obviously a goody two shoes mummy's boy).

It's a shame the yoof of today have no respect - with a little bit of it perhaps the w@nker that drove into the side of my motor in Tescos the other week would have left me a note with his insurer's details on it. Fat feckin chance and I don't recall the Beastie boys doing this sort of scam....please God let me catch someone doing this at some point soon - even it's not to my car.

(Another) rant over.

PS Used to hate the Beastie boys as a kid, but there's something stirring about "Fight for Your Rights" whilst giving it the JLPs...

I am fully in favour of the South African ethos of Car defence.
When the car is parked and left alone, the key fob can activate an electrical current which can 'stun of incapacitate' vandals, gramaphone removal engineers etc.
When driving along and you stumble upon one of those pesky car jackers? Under sill flame throwers!

Can you imagine you visits to the local shell garage?
"pump 7 £40 of unleaded, two canisters of butane gas and 14 12 volt batteries please!"

join the club SB, i've now had to replace twice, but on both occasions incompetent scrotes have failed to actually get badges off, just buckled with screwdriver, they've both been flattened out in vice and given to Porsche-admirers, one kept it in his wallet!!
And yes Arlington going soon to be replaced at Towcester, is that the new building you pass on A43?
