Looking at an earlier thread (tvr gassing, Boxster or Tuscan) people appear to have different information on the servicing costs of a Boxster. I am looking into purchasing a Boxster s but would like to find out what running cost's I could expect incur. I have a Tvr Griff so I am use to having large bills but I would like to know what is in store for me.

I was quoted annual servicing costs of £250 quid when I bought mine. This would appear to be not far off the truth. I paid £300 quid for a service and some other items recently. The total bill was higher than that but then I did have 'em fit a CD changer!
Mine still has manufacturer's warranty of course but that only lasts two years. You can buy a third/fourth year's warranty to the same level for about £700 a year. But you have to buy it before the previous warranty runs out. I believe the warranties are transferrable but you should ask Porsche that.
You want a warranty. Porsche's hourly rates for fixing stuff are astronomical...this is where the horror stories come from. If something major goes wrong you need someone else to be paying!
Porsche estimate running costs on the basis that your car won't need anything doing to it obviously! So if it does...ensure you have a warranty.
Tyres £800 quid for four from Micheldever.
Insurance can be high as well. I pay about £900 to Direct Line for mine - and they insist on Tracker Horizon (with GPS etc) at about £900. The downer with DL is no track day cover so my insurance bill will increase next year as I'll pay about £1500 and get track day cover.
I was quoted about £600 quid a day for Track only cover for a nice new Boxster S so don't bother with that!

The Chimaera was a LOT less expensive to purchase. (The Porsche options list is LONG and PRICEY).
Be aware that on the Porsche the options selected retain value... i.e. a Full Leather car will be worth more 2nd hand than one without. Can't vouch for trade in value but on the forecourt that's true.
Nothing has gone wrong with the Porsche. At all. Not a thing. No costs other than the service.
The Chimaera is serviced twice as often. And has had a range of (small) problems fixed. And fixed again. And sometimes fixed AGAIN! (Door mirror!)
Running costs (not counting depreciation) have been higher for the TVR...but its initial cost was less.
We'll see about depreciation at for both the cars at trade in time!
