Poor Spec ?? Its a GT3 !! Its got the engine.. Nothing else needed !
The colour is nice when clean, the photo's don't show it in its prime.. In bright sunlight !
Maybe the photos dont do the colour justice, I've not seen one in real life but it doesnt work in photoThe colour is nice when clean, the photo's don't show it in its prime.. In bright sunlight !
So its a GT3 doesnt mean you have to have a poor spec does it (if its a weekend only car maybe)

Dunno FM , To me that's just about the best colour the Mk1's came in (all subjective of course) , and all I'd be looking for would be a meticulous service schedule (which I don't know if it has or not) and A/C .. which it does have.I can't really see any other necessity really.
Dunno why I'm talking it up ... If the price drops to £35k , I'm gettin' it I tells ya

Zanzibar isn't my favourite colour either I'm afraid (and I have seen one in the metal).
However, they can look awesome in photos... the seller should beg, borrow or steal a better camera for a start, an possibly some new wheels like this one...
No doubt it looks a lot better in that shot, and those wheels look cool tooHowever, they can look awesome in photos... the seller should beg, borrow or steal a better camera for a start, an possibly some new wheels like this one...
I've seen Jeremy C's Zanzibar car in the flesh and the colour suits it IMHO. What's wrong with the spec of the Cridford's car? I'm not sure about the painted console and carbon, but what constitues a "good spec" GT3?
Incidentally anyone know a Guards red GT3 - R14 RYN? I followed it on the B1307 near Haverhill yesterday evening, waiting for him to really give it some beans. In the end I overtook it and left him to his own devices

prob not sold cos the interior looks horrible - white dials, carbon steering wheel and horrible painted console - zanzibar red is the best colour on the outside when the sun is shining and is metallic even though most photos don't show it, but I couldn't have it inside! it would look like a big baked bean in the car.
Mismatched interior, and what's with those rear aerofoils??!
What was the general machanical condition like? did you drive it?

I saw this car today, http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&a... , and seeing it in the flesh, thought it looked very nice from the outside, however, the interior ain't great, looked a little "tired" if I'm honest, few scuff marks on the buckets, the dials were silver (iirc) which I could live with, but the steering wheel, part carbon, looked like it's fallen out of a Halfords delivery truck. In fact the whole carbon-pack (inc door pulls, storage bin lids, h/brake and g/lever) just looked too bling, IMHO...if I was buying this car (a possibility) I'd almost want to swap over my C2 trim accessories to the GT3!
The centre console in zanzibar was just too OTT, candidate for a respray for sure. So, by the time you put trim back to "normal", it's gotta be a coupla £k? (s/wheel being the majority?)
Didn't drive it, I was enroute to somewhere else, but apparently the car was under offer from a bloke trying to sell his current steed.

I like the ali dials and don't mind the carbon bits (from the picture it looks to be carbon wheel and gear shift / handbrake with some extra bits on doors rather than large carbon pack (which would include bits of the dash)
centre console is hideous (I think all painted consoles are), though £200-300 to switch to std black plastic; would also look OK in carbon to match the other bits IMHO though parts are much more expensive
Zanzibar still very marmite though, except I like marmite
