So for how long are you goping to be porkerless?

Have you confirmed spec yet?

Eye spy with my little eye, a clasic purchase coming on to park next to Mrs SB's classic MGB.

A mate at work changed his 996 C4S for a Cayenne S in April (he had one of the first RHD Cayennes).... he has already given it back and is once again the owner of a 996!!

Edited to state that not because he actually disliked the Cayenne, but because he missed the 996.

You're mad. Why would you swap a 996 for a truck?

Can I be a disbeliever, Steve? Perhaps we could do a repeat of when you were considering the Boxster S? (Still have mine...)

Have to agree with you here, Steve.

The Cayenne is far more road biased than any Range Rover, bar perhaps an Overfinch but even then that has alot more weight to shift around and wallows quite a bit.

I'd put the Cayenne in more of the Volvo XC90 class, more road car but can go off pavement reasonably well if needs be.

I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a black Stuttgart badged monster trundling around the local roads

Enjoy it!!

I read on Rennlist, how a guy was getting between 10-13mpg depending on how easy he drove it.

I hope you have Sat Nav on the car Steve, you can program any trips around refueling stops .

Look forward to seeing you & the K-N at VW later in the year.

Paul,I think you will find that was a TT.The S is a lot more fuel friendly!

Hi Don,
Certainly blew my socks off!We will have to get together after I take delivery to give a demonstration.
Have you sorted out the problem with your Boxster?
Steve

Steve if you get it before the 12th Oct, a good way to run it in (arf!) would be the 2 mile runway at Bruntingthorpe. Not only would another 4 of us get a ride in this most luxurious chariot, but you'd also bed things in quite nicely, and see off some of the rif-raf. Hell, we could even have you running on the grass by the side if you wanted an off road shakedown.

Many congrats - looking forward to pics/thoughts etc.

ATB,

Greg

Steve I hope you are right for the sake of your plastic!

The source of my quotes came from 996 forum of rennlist

Yes, thanks. Boxster now back in tip-top and raring to go at the next PCGB Track Day...

I'd love a demo - perhaps around the same location as last time or somewhere nearer you...anyway. Be sure I'll remind you when I see that happy thread..."Picked Up My New Cayenne Today" on the Porsche Forum...

Paul,
Most of the guys on Rennlist seem to say between 14-18MPG for the S,so not to different from your figures....but then I'm not that worried about fuel consumption, the Jeep only does about 15MPG! Will just have to wait and see.

How much was the cayenne s??

45k??

If so, why not spend 35 on a used 993 or 996 and 10 on a 4x4skin.

Or 20 on a 964 or boxster and 25 on a bigger 4x4skin.???
Seems an unnecessary swap to me.
