Hello everyone...

Some will think i am a professional mover with my usual boot questions!

I would like to know if anyone here have ever used a boot carrier on a Boxster?

I know porsche do not make them (because of the electric wing) but they have the roof kit instead which i do not fancy.

Is there any third party company who makes good quality products?
(something that can handle a reasonnably big suitcase without flying away when driving fast...).

Well i need something good VFM... that does not upset the electric wing.
(i heard 'Thule' is not too bad).

Any advice?

Regards,
Eric.

Whats wrong with the roof rack Eric? You can even raise and lower the roof and er, look at the underneath of your suitcases....

Looks good and strong to boot. And OEM.

Hi Greg,

what is bothering me with the roof rack are these little black thingies that stick to the car when the roof-rack is not on....

They are really ugly!
& you do not want to see them on the car when the roof-carrier is not in place.

& if you want to remove them each time it takes long time & i am not sure you would not scratch your car once or twice (even when being very carefull) if you do it often...

So i am looking for some alternative solution... not sure anything better exists though...

Finally i found a boot carrier slightly more elegant looking on a roadster..

Regards,
Eric.

Porsche also make a suitcase which sits on top of the rear boot. Strange thing as it has a built in high level brake light because you cannot see the one above the rear boot lid through it of course.

Not sure what the fixing looks like when the case isn't on, though....

Look in Tequipment Boxster and you should find it...

Don,

Txs for the info...
Alex on Boxta.net advised the same thing...

The kit is over $1000 & needs drilling on the boot which i do not want.

The fixings are permanent so not great looking.

Any other ideas anyone?

Regards,
Eric.

Pop the missus in the front boot and stick the case in the seat next to you?

yeah - i bought a boxster boot carrier from classic carriers and was really dissapointed.

it's not value for money, it doesn't fit properly, i had to space it out by 7 washers on each side.

also they didn't supply the straps i ordered with it and did not respend to my emails or calls when contacted for refund.
