Easier to do it yourself...most of the big german dealerships speak english and know exactly what you need in addition to C16 spec. You tend to find the uk importer cars are loaded with extras,,these are 10-15% less expensive in Germany than charged on UK cars. The importers tend to get this mark up.
The only real downside is that the GBP / euro exchange rate is currently 1.4230 or 0.7024 whichever way you prefer.
There are not the savings to be made 18 mths ago,but the german dealers can normally get you a car quicker.
Consider, cars from europe normally come with 2 years guarantee, you can pay £800 approx to bring it in line with UK cars.
There is definitely a blind predudice with secondhand buyers.
I sold my Euro rhd C16 996 a few months ago,,I had several calls from idiot buyers offering me silly money for the car.I found a private buyer who was looking for a good car and couldn't care if it was UK supplied or not.
I did well with mine financially, but this was mainly down to the encouraging FX rate at the time.

As Clubsport says, I don't think there are the savings to make it worth the stress of importing, at the moment. But if you do, MAKE SURE (as clubsport says) that the car is C16 specification, this means that it is built at the factory specifically for the UK & is the same as the officially imported OPC cars (but without the roadside assistance that OPC cars get).
