The joy's of garages !!!
The Porker was returned from the OPC after having some warranty work carried out. Nicely warmed up I put the pedal to the metal & was greeted by the sound of a some major BLOWING going on at the back (sounded like a hoover/dyson on full thrust!!) & a general lack of forward thrust. Guess what, they had only forgotten to properly attach one of the Turbo's air pipes & the boost pressure was going everywhere but into the engine !! With a little guidance, one pair of pliers & a little fiddling later & all is well, we have full jet thrust again !!!
As Victor Meldrew would say "I Don't believe it" !!!!

WTF.

Don't they roadtest the car when it's had mechanical work done?

Scandalous Grant,,I hope you have fixed it.However I would be inclined to take it back to the OPC and stand over them while they check all is fine, just in case they have missed something else.

Daz..... obviously they don't test drive em enough, what's also funny is the chap that returned the car drove it some 40 miles from the garage, clearly he doesn't give it welly !!

Paul...I had a live "phone link" with the Porsche mechanic, before I attempted a fix, I thought it would be better to re-attach the hose myself rather than risk sending it all the way back to the OPC & ending up with a wheel dropping off next time !!!

Anyone fancy any modifications to their Porker, I charge reasonable rates & promise to only thrash your car in the first 6 gears !!!!

All too believable.

You get what you pay for, right?

Bollocks. OPC top prices - for what?

I'm just glad the cars appear to be bullet proof because this mob are shocking.

Just minor sh1t never gets done: I'm still waiting for a spare key after 3 years! Trivial, certainly but just one of a list of 'can'tbebothereditus' which would be understandable in a small indy set-up but for this bunch of nail polishing, footie star fetishists?

Doesn't matter how much grease the head honcho applied before the most recent 'all star charidee raffle' or how impressive the tans of the generally awful tarts who represent much of the over-peroxidal fillie client base appear to be in the latest dealer iussue of 'Slimys Pig Out In Monte Carlo' - you're still getting a seven year old ex-chimney sweep fiddling about with yo pride unt joy.

The difference is (a) far better cappuccino vendors in the OPC showroom and (b) the usually faintly ridiculous number of digits before the decimal point when presented with your bill.

Stuck up nonces to a cad.

Greg...no they didn't leave the oil cap off this time, but a different OPC did on a previous visit ...HONEST!!! "no it won't have affect the engine sir as it's dry sumped" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although I'm not entering into an OPC service bashing session as they are generally good chaps (fingers & toes crossed).

Bloody hell Grant...that was a joke mate! It happened when the Boxster went in. Bloody well does affect performance. Car sounded like a vaccuum cleaner without the cap on. How on earth is the oil pressure supposed to build as well?

Going back to Porsche after a fifteen year break (GT3 CS on order) I`m sad to see this and other OPC problems occuring on what seems to be a regular basis.

I thought I had it bad having to have my Skyline GTR serviced by back street pikey retards working out of freezing cold ex-cow sheds on muddy cow 5hit smelling farms.BUT I wasn`t paying the big bucks per hour that Porsche charge.

I guess the Porsche Warrenty is worth its weight in gold....thats why I`ve gone the "new car" route but this obviously doesn`t guarantee a better quality of workmanship. I am shocked to read all these horror stories. Shame.
