Would appreciate any advice on the best 1/2 cage for a 964 rs. Is it possible to source an original spec matter?

Matter is now owned by Safety Devices. You can get a Safety Devices cage for the 964RS - I have done. Cost comes to about 300 GBP once carriage, VAT and a harness bar are added. Fitting tends to be the same again - the doors, seats and rear screen have to be removed to get it in IIRC. Consider whether you need it welded or bolted in. Welding is stronger but irreversible. Only some insurers would cover me with a cage - it was a no-no for many of them - so make sure you check with your insurance company before doing this mod.

Looks the bollocks tho' and much safer than standard. Thoroughly recommended

I'm considering a cage for my 993 RS. I have looked at Safety Devices, but also there's a Heigo cage from Germany which (apparently) makes no marks on the car. Speak to Peter or Craig at GT One who have installed a few and can tell you more - 01932 569 911

9M fitted a full (bolt-in) Safety Devices cage in my RS.

The fit is perfect, finish is fantastic and as of yet no cage squeak!
