Afternoon all, Can somebody tell me what the differences are between the 944S2 standard and the 944S2 with sports chassis. I have a 944 S2 but would like to know which one it is.

Cheers

I would think it means that they're fitted with either M474 or M030 suspension options. If you look at the option codes for your car (have you got the label attached to the rear panel in the boot?) it should tell you what it had fitted

Ring a Porsche a dealer with the chassis No and they will tell you what your car was like when it left the factory.

A quick way to tell if you have the Sports Suspension is that your shock absorbers will be Yellow Koni sports, and you will have wider tyres and wheels. Sports Suspension had 225/50 ZR 16 tyres on a 7.5 inch rim at the front and 245/45 ZR 16 on a 9 inch rim at the back.

This info is in the back of the owners manual (which is where I just read it - I'm not really that anorakish )

Also your front callipers and pads will be from a 928 S4 and are much bigger than the rears. A standard S2 has the same size brake pads front and rear. Damn, maybe I am an anorak after all

Check out this web-site, Tom really knows his stuff when it comes to 944S2 specifications, especially in the brake and suspension dept.
