944 caliper overhaul
Discussion
Morning all,
I have traced an annoying rattle in my '88 944 Turbo S to the fact that my driver's side rear caliper has a sticky piston, allowing the pad about 2-3mm play. Not ideal but a common problem I believe.
I would imagine this is a reasonably simple thing to fix, but in the absence of a technical manual, does anyone have any hints/tips or potential pitfalls?
Thanks.
Steve

It depends how sticky it is really. If you can free it off with some aerosol brake cleaner, then put the pad back in and work it back and forward with the pedal and your hand then you should be okay. Keep a regular eye on it.
One of my rears started to do this and caused uneven pad wear but it's been okay for over a year now.
I have heard that rebuild kits for the Brembo/ Porsche callipers are only available from an OPC
