I will know more about the blue colour, the performance, the sound and other things next Friday.

I feel confident in Porsche cars regarding performance, handling and realabilty. This applies both for racing and driving on the Nürburgring.

Best regards,
Ulf Karlsson.

Welcome Ulf!

Euan is SFV on PistonHeads, and there may be one or two other ringers lurking.

Nice choice of car, BTW. Let us know how you get on with it, and how it compares to the GT3 Mk2.

Regards
Dom

Hi Ulf.

Welcome to Pistonheads, I look forward to reading your thoughts on your new GT3 RS, have a great weekend.

I'm an infrequent poster over on Ringers using my proper name "Darren R...." , unfortunately only visiting the Ring once or twice a year. A great shame you can't do a follow up to your 7'45" video which I have used for learning lines.

I wonder if Ulf was able to collect his car?
Ulf, let us other GT3 RS waiters know how it performs when you have some time, waiting time is very difficult...
TIA

Luigi

I think Ulf's collecting the RS on Friday 10th of October and "gently" running it in on the saturday and sunday in some scenic countryside.

PS - Have you got your Stradale yet?

DAZ, I've cancelled my order for the Stradale as soon as it was confirmed that it would only come with the F1 tranny.
I still think the Stradale is gorgeous, but I really don't like this kind of clutchless systems, call me oldschool if you want...
I am waiting to get delivery of a GT3RS, which should arrive in November.
Actually monday I was able to see one in the flesh and it looks GORGEOUS!
I also started the engine and blipped the throttle a couple of times: this one really does have a single mass flywheel...(throttle response is unbelieveable)

A man of taste

With you on the clutchless thingy. I drove a F355 F1 and thought it good - until it invariably breaks

Trust you are going for red livery, as the baby blue is a shade off the maritime blue that they should have used.

Going fo red of course, I think the blue in the pics is rather awkward...
I chickened out and specified air/con also, as well as 6point harness for passenger and bixenon.

Luigi, I'm sure Dom will not wish to shoot you for ordering aircon as it does get bloody hot in Italy. However if you've ordered the cup holders I'm afraid wild horses will not stop him.

Regarding the blue paint option. To start with I was a little dissappointed it wasn't the dark blue I was anticipating, now though I quite like it.

Cupholders? No way, that is out of place in the RS...
I specified for a roll cage mounted carbonfibre humidor, which is more racing...
I wasn't sure about ordering it with air/con, but it does get very hot here and I also think that a 20 kg difference in a 1300 kg car is only felt by a really good professional driver...

Fair play.

I am getting air con in my Ultima, despite normally rating this alongside cupholders and electric heated seats in my delete options list.

Like the humidor idea

At least you have a fire extinguisher and nomex should the hot embers go astray!

This is my favourite picture out of the bunch. Looks absolutely stunning. Forget everything I've previously said about preferring a darker blue.

Colurs are difficult issues. I am satisfied with the blue colour. I am also satisfied with the car. I passed the Nürburgring on my way home from the factory. I drove 3 laps with reduced speed. The RS feels more agile than my old GT3 CS and also more agile than the new GT3 CS.

The sound from the engine is something special.

I checked the weight of the car today. 1 330 kg with full tank and the rear roll cage mounted. I am satisfied with that.

Best regards,
Ulf Karlsson.

Excellent news. Good to hear the GT3 RS feels more agile rather than just having more expensive components over the GT3.

Look forward to moving to the right if I ever see you in the rear view mirror.
