You missed the Ultima... it beat the Pagani to 100mph with PH's very own andycanam at the helm.

Interesting, Dom.

On the day, the Ultima beat the Noble, but Guys Ultima was beaten by DeR's Beetle - surprised nobody has picked up on this.

Come next time, with deckchairs for seats, no soundproofing whatsoever and a flywheel the weight of a paper plate expect DeR to be even quicker, I'd imagine.

Greg

The Ders car one due to missed gear change!
The factor of top speed was also an issue.

Alas, Sir Guy, you are referring to the master of fluffed gearchanges lui-meme, inappropriately judged changes when they do come (often dicatated by nothing less subtle than a steroidally enhanced rev limited bounce!) and a preoccupation with the angle of flailing side mirrors, not to mention side windows left open way too late and thus sapping vital hundredths away from the accelerative grail of horizon buttismo.

I'm quite sure that a vaguely pertinent wheelman, rather than a ham fisted pie nibbler like yours truly would allow the black blob a more effective performance.

Let Brunters IV commence...

I was in DeR's beetle when it beat the Ult, and it is sodding quick. The Ult is v raw, but the Beetle is an amazing everyday machine. There is little in them up to 120, then the Ult seems to gain from 120-140, then the Beetle's gearing did it stuff.

Boy I wish I had been able to be at Bruntingthorpe, listening to the reasons why each car should have been fastest makes good reading, so what was it like on the day ???!!!

I've just taken the plunge & had a cargraphic sports exhaust fitted to the TT, now it's not just pah to Diablo's & 360's on top speed It's double-pah on the mean exhaust note front (rips the front's off houses !!).....he says running for cover as the Lambo,Noble,360 & ultima pack come hunting !!

Joking aside I think you all have "big ones" I would have probably ended up bottom of the list, long may your right feet stay planted !!!!!!!

Crikey guys this stuff is awesome. I was planning on coming along to the next one but I'm not sure I'm able to compete at this level!! Surely a Cerbera (even one that actually makes 420bhp/390lbft) will still pale into insignificance compared to the kind of trickery you guys are talking about. That's assuming it doesn't break half way into the day! Still, I've gotta come along and take a look at this next time, even if only to watch.

And as if by magic - I have to say, the biggest smile on all the faces, in all the cars, on all the pics I took that day, were on Adams mush.

Nice one.

Jeremy C tells me he holds the normily aspirated engine top speed record for a PH Brunters thrash in his Cerbie (169 JC ?) & he hasnt broken the car yet- just don't let him loose in a Noble tho (sorry J ) Oh and if JC is right come on Tony better get some noz (neon washer jets optional) on the Diablo

Quite right my reptilian friend; 175mph I believe (an indicated 185mph ).

Mind you, the 150mph-odd into the headwind we achieved with the Uberwagen last time was quite fun - all four of us able to enjoy it at once as well.

yep, the Cerbie was 175. The 4 up RS2 ride was magic. Jeremy I (think) my brother has some good footage as he was in the rs6 at the time, will double check.

Iguana, you shouldn't believe all you hear. JeremyC only just scrapes into 3rd position in terms of top speed record for a PH Brunters thrash. If you check CraigW's timings from BruntersII (below), you'll see that ther were two NA cars ahead of JC and quite a few (i.e. 3) that matched him!!!!

Have you got one on your "BEAST" DER, which one did you choose, there are three for the 996, quiet (TUV),
mid(TUV), loud/export (non TUV). If I keep away from 2k on part throttle, so far so good, how long have you had them & how have you found them ???

I didn't realise there were different grades of Xyclon B dispersal but come to think of it, mine is always refreshingly borderline at MOT time.

Maybe things have been developed a little more for the new cars? Which of the three is on yours?

I've found it fundamnetally changes the character of the thing and the enjoyment thereof, vastly. The much lamented Dyson sound track was always an achilles heel against the plethora of vying Maranellese automotive nookisma and so deliverance thus, represents an appropriate marriage of maelstromic sound effect to what is, after all, almost invariably indominatable hoonage.

About 2 and a bit years now and so good, I'd say it is unquestionably a 'must have' tweak for all overblown schnellerhorns!

If you haven't heard it from the outside, Grant, get one of your men to stand with digicam at the ready and tie him down to eat dirt as you spit gravel from zilch to Valhalla - the sound as the horizon lopes forth is proper stuff - kind of mimmicking the joy of an RS on the inside but here, from the outside.

I know my footage from Brunters recently has kept me ever so slightly 'double taking' as it were, at the noise: dispensing all myths that Stuttgart's more densely plumbed power sources need sound just, well, 'devoid.'

Anyway, bravo and always remember - hammer down - 'tis the only way.

Blimey Der, love the prose ...."Maranellese automotive nookism "....good stuff !!!
Mine is the midrange model (still TUV approved) but I am having to modify my driving style, the "mega boomy patch" is right at 2k-sh which is cruising speed, so am now having to THRASH IT EVERYWHERE, it's a tough job but someone has to do it !!!!!!
