Er steve, just in case you forgot, you should be collecting your new car and hooning about rather than playing with the kids on Pistonheads.

DAZ

What date, when can we see piccies etc. Are you confirmed for VW in feb?

do you really mean that if you had 3 kids and one owned a horse and you had cause to transport the thing in its box from time to time you wouldn't consider one?
But why then try to turn it into a 911 Horse for courses and this one lost it's direction! Rich...

Greg, totally an opinion. But surely a land rover is a better car for towing, a mate who has a horse race stud as a sideline, with 3 kids and a horse box,,binned his S6 Avant, bought a disco TD5 & a Box S.

We speak of cars quite a bit and the K-N has not entered into a single discussion.

I am only responding on a forum, but i really would not consider one, if you have a horsebox,,why not get a Touareg V10 diesel, get a brace of shires in the back and show the horsey set how it should be done?

But that`s just it, a Land rover either in Lara Croft, Guy Richie or John Craven guise is not a better tow car than the K-N. Honestly, I`ve no axe to grind because we don`t sell new Porsches but I wouldn`t sell ours, it is the best tow vehicle I`ve ever driven and I probably do 20k towing miles a year.

You`d love to believe the car is just a chelsea tractor but if you had the ackers and the need you`d be ordering one up tomorrow.

Re : the oil burning towrag why would you buy it ? The whole point of the Porker is it`s suspension, I`ll wager the VW is not blessed with the same delicious air suspension, and besides when it comes to resale time do you not think the prancing horses on the bonnet might just help stave off depreciation the size of Jo Brand`s lunch box ?

Er no I wouldn't spend my hard earned on one.EDITED

I really don't want to get tied up in this, enjoy your KN guys but for some of us fellow Pork enthusiasts, it is not a car you will glance back at when you walk away from having parked it.It is a great modern day utility vehicle, but again I turned down a green card as I didn't want to be American. maybe that's what it is we all have different aspirations and i am glad you enjoy it...

CS, Lets try and keep the personal insults off forum.

I appreciate beauty is in the eye of the beholder but imagine being married to Kylie then finding out that not only is she a wonderful cook, keeps the house spotless, insists on your going out twice a week with the lads, is a vixen between the sheets and never moans at you.

The K-N is just that, a stunner to look at, (in the flesh and from the right angle), and it copes with everthing you can throw at it. And yes I have looked back at it in the car park or parked outside the house and felt that inner glow. Good old Porsche for having the decency to allow those of us hen pecked, child pestered, pet smothered, hobby burdened husbands to still enjoy the open road, or field, or mountainside, or city centre.

See the K-N as a Range Rover RS !!

Happy winter motoring.
And with all this rain when are Porsche going to design an ark so we can load the cars on two by two !

Sacrilege Henry. You know it has more cupholders than a British Rail Pullman.

I don't think Steve's comment re driving one is quite right, either. No one is denying its dynamic prowess. And as for looks, they are subjective and a test drive merely for the eyes!!!

And besides, you don't need to lick a dog poo to know that you wouldn't want to eat one (No analogy with the Cayenne intended)

No, I jest not. A roll cage is currently available for the K-N, It wouldn`t be that hard to shave off a couple of hundred kg`s, If you jammed the car`s suspension in loading mode it would be low and stiff, all you need is some fabric door pulls and you`ve cracked it.

Oh, and limit them to white with red or blue decals / wheels.

Form an orderly queue. List price is going to be £76,995.99 we`ll limit them to 10 cars and we need 80% deposit on order. All major cards accepted.

I think I need to go and rest in a dark room for a few weeks.

I agree. It looks bloody good there. But that is a Rinspeed Cayenne. To remind you, the Porsche Cayenne looks like this:

Cayenne - it's not nice is it? Can't see the point myself.

I spent yesterday crawling around one at my local OPC and it's still an answer to a question no-one's asked, in my view. And it's not pretty...

Still comes down to the same point though. You need to drive one, not just on a quick blast but for a week. Load it up, do some town work, have a blast 300 miles on the motorway, pick up a trailer, pack the christmas pressies and a couple of kids in it.

Maybe as an owner you see the inner beauty as well. I suspect we`ll have one in the fleet for a good long while to come and it takes an awful lot to impress me. I get to own and drive some wonderful gear from a range of manufacturers but still for what it is I think it`s the best on the market.

I wonder how you`d get on packing 3 sleeping bags, 3 bags of clothes, a small bike, some other assorted toys, a 6 man liferaft and 3 people in the 993 !!

You have to remember the Cayenne owner generally won`t have the freedom to buy a 911. His circumstances dictate he needs something larger. Rather than let him go off to BMW, Mercedes, Range Rover or Japan Porsche have wisely opted to keep his custom. They will probably be selling him a 911 / boxster as a second car when finances / family / parking allow.

Porsche are never going to ditch the 911 in favour of the K-N.

If you ever need a tow in the winter at least you`ve got a few p-headers who will be able to help out now !!
