I looking for some advice on purchasing a 1995 993 which has sufferred some accident dammage in the past ( how much or little I cannot establish)but subsequently has been Autolign inspected and is nolonger on the HPI regisiter as a Cat C or D - will Autolign give me the reassurance I need or is a further Porsche inspection required ? I am in a quandary of what to do - advice appreciated!!!

Establish what the retail price for it is and make sure you don't pay that for it. It'll still be on Porsche Cars GB's database as having been a write-off and none of the OPC community would touch it (but then, it's too old for them to retail in any case). But its resale value will be affected.

Rule of thumb used to be to pay about 2/3 retail, but that may have changed nowadays, so how about £18k? - sounds about right for a car with a good provenance that might be worth £25k for a private sale...
