996 Colour Choice
Discussion
Just managed to obtain a cancelled order 996 for delivery in April but torn between Aerokit or Non Aerokit and colour, as I like basalt black met, silver met, red or possibly lapis blue / slate grey met (new colour)
Quick Poll - Aerokit or Not?
Colour choice - ????
The rest of the car will be C2 Coupe, Black Leather, Sports exhaust, sports seats, sports suspension, carera wheels.....
I was intending to wait for a 997 but it seems they arent going to be realeased until the end of the year so UK deliveries are at least 12 -18 months away, with the order bank etc..
Help

Personally, I'd leave the aero-kit. You'll get tired of telling people it's not really a GT3.
Colour is so, so difficult. I agonised for days, if not weeks regarding my soon-to-be-here Turbo, but maybe the following might help.
Basalt Black - looks stunning when clean and has been cleaned from new using good practice to avoid swirls in the paintwork. Car looks smaller in this colour but wheels and headlights stand out.
Red - Not a popular colour but looks good on every 996 I've ever seen. Maybe people associate it with Ferrari. Rear lights appear to blend into paintwork.
Slate Grey - Only looks good in good light when the car is very clean, otherwise looks dull.
Seal Grey - Looks simply superb when clean and much better than slate in poor light. Seems to suit wide bodied cars better.
Silver - The safe choice. Why? Because the shape of the 996 suits silver so well. Having said that you don't need to play too safe. Arctic silver is very common, but Polar Silver looks so vibrant in comparison. Of course, Polar Silver is an extra cost option. You could also consider Meridain which is silver with a warm hue. Very nice colour, not very common, no extra cost and looks good on narrow bodied cars.
Anyway, here's a pic of my C4 taken last week (ps-It's for sale - www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?i=17821&s=79)

Ocean With Aerokit
Funny how we all recommending our colours.
Aero adds a 'purposeful' look to the car imho.
It adds to the lines greatly, actually prefer the mk1 Aerokit as opposed to the Mk2, love the dbl bend read spoiler..
My fav kit would be the GT2 kit tho, i just LOVE that nose...
Each to their own
Some pix in my profile for comparison.
GL with which ever you choose tho
Speed Yellow does compliment the Aerokit extremely tho
