Last sunday blast ended with a rear alloy badly damaged (don't ask ). The wheel is a "CS Design" type 9Jx16 ET60mm (16" 245/45 tyres) like the one below:

Although it's quite similar to the Design 90 below (I even thought they were the same) it's not the same thing:

Anyway I came back home, start looking in web, and sent some mails. Early morning today both www.design911.com and Douglas Valley answered with quotes.

They seem highly credible but as I'd never mail ordered anything from them I'm asking fellow PHers who had experience with this companies about how they are (returns, refund policies and all that stuff).

Thanks.

From what I've heard about Douglas Valley, they are very reputable if a little pricey.... oh and not the most efficient so you might need to badger 'em a bit.

Never used them myself, but know folks who have and have continued to use them, so must say something, hope that helps

I've not had the best experiences with Douglas Valley, so I tend to use them last.

Have you tried Simon Butterworth at Porsche-apart? Another breakers, usually better value, and they know what they are talking about.

Yes, they replied pronto as well and seemed very knowledgeable but only have the entire 4 wheel set for selling, which I would like to avoid.

I've delt with Douglas Valley a few times & nver had a problem.

However oviously they are all Northern Monkeys oop there & speak in some odd form of whippet fanciers dialect, so you do need to chivvy em up with ya best Brian Sewall accent and the phrase "I say my good man would you mind saying that again in the Queens english rathar than in fluent Whippet'ese"

You will also have to ring for awhile before they answer as they are out tending there homing pigions or down 'ta mine

Mind you it has been in a trade capacity when ive delt with 'em so not sure of how they are with ya private punter.

Have you tried Jasmine?- well recomended & also the chaps who as ive got brain fade at the mo I can't remember the names of at the mo (they deal mainly with 944s- opp north- think its Bolton) anyway Ive used them & well recomended too.

Now then Mr. Ig, be careful, you didn't turn down the opportunity of Northern hospitality though, did you, you cheaky little caravan dweller?? Ate me out of house and home, you did, even ignored me Labrador shaped Whippet drooling onto your foot whilst stuffing your mouth with cram cakes and biscuits, you sod!

For the wheel try Neil at Prestige Salvage in Leeds (01132 431 392), tell him that Colin sent you and ask for a 944/928 silver forged 16" wheel, even if he only has a set he will sell you a lone star.

Simon at Porscha-part is v good as is Douglas Valley, used both with no problems. Simon is the most likely to have your desired wheel Check out ebay as well cos I am fairly sure there is a set for sale on it at the mo.

Iguana, not all of us speak whippetese some of us are are fluent in Ferret (a more universal language, spoken on both side of the pennines)

We're heading for a laugh here: a portuguese trying to speak english with northern accent! Wish me luck.
(whippetese? what's that?)

Didn't found anything in ebay (only Design 90 sets there). Will try also Hartec and Prestige Salvage. Thanks.

OK, just as to conclude this story.

Choose Douglas Valley in the end and they were OK although the wheel was a little scruffy but you pays your money etc (they would had to be all painted and sorted anyway). But as long as the wheels are 'wheeling' again I'm a happy bunny.

And the guys there were helpful although there was a bloke named Peter which I completely failed to understand any single fing word he said

Thanks to you all.
