£50k more than a C4S ????
I know amazing isn't it? Definitely makes a C4S look overpriced.SM
But all great cars and, compared with Europe, seems like we're getting positive bargain prices at the moment
What a cracker !
Will probably be the ultimate A-B all weather, every day super car, but, does anyone get the feeling that Porsche are adding all the bells and whistles to the current 997 range in order to get rid of its stocks, bodyshells etc just like all the other main stream manufacturers do, in order for the later model which is imminent ?
I know talk is of being 2013 before the new Turbo arrives, but judging by the latest 997.2 offerings, I would be suprised if it's that long ?
IMHO

You're probably right, but it will always be the case that there's something new, upgraded, more powerful, on the horizon.

I guess we will start to know more about the next gen 911 early next year, with the mainstream models in 2012MY and the flagship models following a year or so on.
To their credit, Porsche are at the top of their game at the moment - Spyder, Sport Classic, GT3, GT3RS, new Turbo, Turbo S, and GT2RS. And from what I can tell production numbers are modest, and, apart from the SC, prices still represent pretty good value.
Some people will complain that it's just confusing variants on one theme, but then some people 'get' the 911 thing and its model hierachy, and some don't. It's the evolutionary development with almost 50 years lineage that I love.

Porsche bores the living hell out of me with their endless models of basically the same vehicle.
A car fan (but not necessarily a P fan) shouldn't have to resort to wikipedia to know whether or not he is looking at a good 911, a base 911, or a great 911 because they all look so damn similar and there are so many models of meaningless distinction.
I think Porsche have got it bang on with 'their endless models'. It just goes to prove how good the 911 platform is. If you want a rear wheel drive 911 - you can have one. If you want a four wheel drive 911 - you can have one. If you want a track focused 911 - you can have one. The 911 can be as user friendly as the next car, but also as hardcore as you could ever want it to be.A car fan (but not necessarily a P fan) shouldn't have to resort to wikipedia to know whether or not he is looking at a good 911, a base 911, or a great 911 because they all look so damn similar and there are so many models of meaningless distinction.
Keep up the good work Porsche
I think someone might be able to hit 2.9s 0-60 in this. I'm not really a fan of 0-60 but with the ease of being able to do it with the PDK and launch it must be pretty amazing.
Being an average driver I think I'd be able to drive this faster than either the GT3 RS or GT2RS just down to confidence factor.

2.9s has already been achieved in the standard turbo pdk. Being an average driver I think I'd be able to drive this faster than either the GT3 RS or GT2RS just down to confidence factor.

Got one coming next month, i have deleted the Spyder look wheels as i think they
look gank, and much prefer the standard wheels.
Hope i've done the right thing there.

Congrats - i would sell a kidney for one of these. I too would have the standard wheels (turbo 2) - i think these look much better than the Spyder type. I think the Spyder wheels look a little 'aftermarket' IMOlook gank, and much prefer the standard wheels.
Hope i've done the right thing there.

Suppose it's personal, but I think the lightweight centre lock Spyder wheels look stunning - much more of a 'motorsport' design and far better rim protection. look gank, and much prefer the standard wheels.
Hope i've done the right thing there.

Removing them (a £2k option) for the standard wheels might be seen as a negative at re-sale. Far better, if you can negotiate it, might be the new 'Fuchs' wheels.

Am still concerned about resale, however, this will have to last me 4-5 years like my last TT Cab, so won't make much difference by then.
