EVO clocked 60 in 2.9 and 100 in 6.8- if you want to go any quicker then you need a Veyron
No you don't..you need a proto 996tt - I clocked 6.6 at Brunters, and that was on low boost. But that is still a nice car, but a lot of cash.

Still in relative terms it is good value when you consider the Veyron comparison
Iirc, the veyron does 17secs to 186. This will do it in probably 35secs. All 997tt/gt are quick in STD trim to 100, it is after that they are slow. IMO I would rather spend 50-60k having something that is very quick and drivable than 123k. It is a nice car but a lot of money especially compared to the 997tt alone. Headline figures can be misleading.

Seen an article in one of the porsche mags, cant remember which, about the forthcoming RS verion of the GT2. Quick glance i got said it used the 3.6 engine(cant be right surely?), and boosted to 1.6 bar! Any more info forthcoming about this car?.
Yes, 3.6 engine, but don't get too hung up on boost - that 1.6 bar is only in certain rev range/gears and won't be for long. It will do 124 in under 10 secs, and is a lot lighter than 997tt s. PTWR = 435hp which is a lot. Price - £164k, and I think only 500 will be made.996ttalot said:

However, all 911s are just fast Beetles and while being very very fast it is dull, common and there is no personality. Personally I can't see why anyone wouldn't buy a Corvette ZR1 and spend the remaining £20,000 or so on revamping its ghastly plastic-y interior.

Seemed a pity to let this thread lapse without a couple of photos.
Interior may not be to everyone's taste but I'm very happy with it and to some extent see two tone as part of the S signature, along with the Spyder wheels which I probably wouldn't otherwise specify.
Congrats, any comments on the performance? Interior may not be to everyone's taste but I'm very happy with it and to some extent see two tone as part of the S signature, along with the Spyder wheels which I probably wouldn't otherwise specify.
I agree with you about the two-tone interior and Spyder wheels being part of the Turbo S signature. I've opted for black/cream in a Carrara white car with black Spyder wheels. It arrived in the country today and is hopefully now en route to Porsche Reading for me to collect day after tomorrow. Itchy fingers.
