Dom that is scandalous that your techie has still got the car, why don't you just go and collect the car on a trailer and take it somewhere far more reputable.
If you leave it there it will be off the road for another year and you will have missed another track day season.
it would make sense to make fellow forum members aware of the repairers so that we steer well clear of such apparent shoddy service.

LOL, he is a mate and at the price he has charged he could have it for another 12 months He is also a perfectionist, which adds to the timing issue, but no complaints there either I couldn't recommend him for a quick fix, but he did my Dad's Audi S2 steering pump the other day as a fast turnaround favour with no probs. The other problem with the Baron has been waiting for parts.
If he is a mate that is one thing,,but surely most of the enjoyment out of owning an RS is driving it rather than saying you have one and how great it is ?
Why would you let him have it for another 12 months, surely it would be worth paying up a little getting the job done and using the car. There are trackdays that are too good to miss waiting to be done.

Don't worry about it -I've NEVER seen a noise tester or been noise tested at Oulton.
105db static is fairly high.....

Been to Oulton many times and have always been tested.
To be fair they test but don't seem unduly concerned at the results. I was let on at 107db - split secondary silencer, and I only know the result because I thought it was a bit louder than normal and asked.
There are some very loud cars run at Oulton.

That's the sort of excuse Domster would make...

It definitely wouldn't with the cat bypass and J pipe - sounds wonderful tho'. Sadly the gaylord standard backbox may have to go back on to please the noise nazis.
