Here is one of my favorite quotes from Dave Roberts, of "928 Specialists" in Atlanta, in the US. For those of us in the US, this outfit is a treasure trove of information and parts. They can be found at this link, for anyone who may be interested. http://928gt.com/

And now for the quote..............

Rich pondered:
> Eventually our 928s will, one by one, wear out.
> This begs the question, how will we replace them?

"I am not so sure about that, a friend of mine here in Atlanta has 2 928s, a 79 with 597,000 miles,
and an 81 with 368,000 miles. He bought both new and they still look and run like new cars, at
that rate WE may wear out before the 928s !!!!!!

At that rate I need to put on another 477,000 miles in order to catch that guy with the '79. Those glass lined cylinder walls are almost indestructible. Use good oil and a 928 will run almost forever.
