I am interested in buying a 996 which is this colour however the car in question is over 400 miles away and would rather see one closer to home first before I travel. My question is does anyone out there in central Scotland own a 996 in this colour which I could view?

I don't.... but...

Go on autotrader.co.uk, type in your post-code and you'll find all the ones for sale in this colour... pop along and check it out and don't buy....

Very cheeky.. but solves a problem!

I went all the way to Germany to see mine then went back again to get the car so I don't see where the problem is in travelling 400 miles and back. The vesuvius 993 looked great and probably will stand out more than your common silver 996. Go on, it's only 800 miles round trip.

steady eddie...nothing wrong with a silver 996. they look the muts nuts, and always easily resaleble. the vesuivius colour however is very nice and unique. usually purchased by women with a boots advantage card though?

800 miles is quite an excessive trip to see a car.

I know the car you are talking about, I called the garaage/owner about a month ago, but didn't go for it purely because of the distance. C4 isn't it?

Anyway, Camtune have (check still have) a 993 C2S in this colour. It is a fantastic colour - greyish purple - which doesn't sound good but looks great.

If this is the C4 in Scotland, it looks, on paper, a great car.

I have a 996 in this colour & loads of quality digital pics that I can send you - let me know.
I am based in Surrey though so no chance of seeing the car in the metal.
All I can say is that I love it & have never seen another Porsche in this colour all the time I have had it (lost count of the number of silver ones !)
When fresh washed it looks grey/purple & when it has a layer of grime over it, it loses the purple & appears grey. It also looks different colours depending on time of day & under which light its being viewed (sunlight / street lights etc)
