"Elite" and "Micheldever" are both worth getting quotes from and using them to barter with a local tyre depot.

Just got 2*295/30 ZR18 N3 Pirelli Assimetricos (rears)waiting for me at the local tyre depot. They quoted £228, I settled on £180 per tyre including fitting and balancing.

Internet supplier www.mytyres.net last night gave a price of £199 inc. postage. Last month they were quoting £176 inc postage. This would require paying for the tryes to be fitted locally.

Always had Pirelli Assimetricos on mine, they seem fine. Got them from CHESSINGTON TYRES for £145 inclusive of balancing and VAT. Last replaced 6 months ago.

Update. Just checked the car over ready for sunday. I've just ordered a pair of front tyres same make as above but 225/40 ZR18 N3, cost £130 per tyre inc fitting. This brings the total up to £620 for a complete set of four. Get haggling chaps.

Rico, they are being fitted on tuesday.

mmmm intersting point - my rears are pretty much down to the minimum tread depth and maybe borderline after some fun with Don P at Brunters - would you say use as they are at Brunters on Sunday or make the change before ?

I've located a pair and have the option to change tomorrow and wear in on a 100 mile blast up the M1

I would welcome your thoughts
